Next up is a Trap that is boosted if you have Evil Eye of Selene, Evil Eye Defeat.

Defeat is a Normal Trap that when you activate it and you control an Evil Eye monster, you bounce a monster on the field to the hand, or you can target up to 2 monsters if you control Evil Eye of Selene as well. A archetypal Compluse that is searchable is something many archetypes would love to have, as it bouncing cards is better than destroying them sometimes since your opponent would have to invest in getting it back onto the field in some way. You can also target a Serziel that isn’t equipped with Selene maybe to search again when you Normal Summon it again, though you’d like to do that when you’re bouncing two cards after you control a Selene, since using this just to bounce your own cards isn’t the most optimal thing, you’d want to get rid of something as well. Defeat is one of the better Spells/Traps of the archetype that isn’t as mandatory since Selene makes the archetype go, so this is a Trap worth having a few of with Evil Eyes.

Advanced Rating: 4.25/5

Art: 4.5/5 I think this might be Medusa and Serziel getting corrupted by Selene.

Evil Eye Defeat is a simple enough theme Trap.  You Target one Monster on the Field, so long as you control an Evil Eye Monster, but two Monsters if you have Evil Eye of Selene on the Field (so being set by its effect would work as well) bounces the Monster or Monsters back to the Hand of its/their owner(s).  It can be searched as well via our card from yesterday, which is another plus.

This is a very fun card.  Use it to bounce something from the opponent to attack that maybe you couldn’t destroy at the time, or even just make a nice push for the current turn.  Bounce something of your own, theme specific or not, to reuse an effect, or equip something again (Selene maybe?) there are numerous possibilities here you can use with this for either player and various strategies.

Art:  4/5  This is a cool picture.  The Japanese has different lightning, which is a better picture.  The light is white and the haze is a dark black/purple mix, but the women look good in here as well.

Evil Eye Defeat is a free Normal Trap Card that can only be activated once per turn. You have to control an Evil Eye monster to bounce a targeted monster back to the hand. If you have Evil Eye of Selene on one of your monsters, you can bounce two targeted monsters instead of one. That’s it. It’s definitely worth running in the deck because of how well this helps to clear your opponent’s monsters without destroying them or having any grave effects activate. This and Serziel can really just mow the lawn and let you push for game. Evil Eye Defeat is also searchable within the theme and with Trap Trick. 2 might be enough.
