Hello Pojo Fans,

It is a Battles of Legends week on Pojo CoTD, beginning with Dragonmaid Cehrmba.

With the release of Dracotail, Dragonmaids and other Dragon-based strategies got a boost, especially if they are Fusion-based. Cehrmba is the dragon form of Chamber Dragonmaid. Level 8 has synergy with Trade-In, and she protects Dragon Fusion Monsters from being destroyed by opponent card effects while on the field. Decent board protection for your monsters. At 2800ATK Cehrmba can hold her own on the field while her destruction protection carries over to her as well. You can bounce her back to the hand like all Dragonmaid dragon forms at the end of the Battle Phase to Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Dragonmaid from your hand, but this may be one of your dragons you want to keep on the field.

Discarding her to Special Summon a Dragonmaid from your grave or banished gets another use out of any Dragonmaid’s Normal or Special Summon effect, as well as sets up for a dragon version of a Dragonmaid to be Special Summoned at the start of the Battle Phase from any of the Dragonmaid monsters you summon with Cehrmba. With the exception of Dragonmaid Ernus, all the other Dragonmaid dragon versions specialize in what Level monster they can Special Summon off being discarded (their original forms Levels), making Cehrmba much more flexible. Also, if a Dragonmaid dragon form Special Summoned a Dragonmaid, it was always from the hand, not the grave or banished area: Dragonmaid Cehrmba gives you far more reach in terms of what to Special Summon regarding your Dragonmaids, dragon form or maid form. With the advent of Lady Dragonmaid as well, being able to access the banished area becomes far-more critical in this archetype.

Discarding the dragon forms in the Dragonmaid archetype was never a negative because the maid forms always could Special Summon them at the start of the Battle Phase. With Dragonmaid Cehrmba, you can Special Summon from the banished area now to tie into Lady Dragonmaid, and then Special Summon Cehrmba back off any maid version to give your whole field destruction effect protection. With a high ATK as well, Cehrmba can stay on the field and offer some form of protection while you cycle your maids and dragons through the Battle Phases.

A double dose of archetypes this week as both only got two cards, starting the week off with Chamber Dragonmaid’s Dragon form: Dragonmaid Cehrmba.

Cehrmba is a Level 9 DARK Dragon with 2800 ATK and 1800 DEF. Respectable stats on a Level 9, and DARK/Dragon makes for an amazing combination. Dragon Fusions you control cannot be destroyed by card effects while you control this, giving some protection to your Dragonmaid Fusions along with some generics you might run like Light and Darkness Dragonlord, Khaos Starsource Dragon, and Filia Regis. The remaining effects are each a HOPT, first letting you discard this card to summon a Dragonmaid monster from your graveyard or banishment, besides Cehrmba. More recovery for the Deck to go with Hospitality is solid, putting a Dragonmaid back on the field, preferably a smaller form to get an on summon effect and then use the Battle Phase effect if you want a bigger Dragon to battle with. At the end of the Battle Phase, you can return this card from the field to the hand to Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Dragonmaid from your hand. Basically a copy-paste from the other Dragon forms of the Dragonmaids, except now we can summon Chamber with this as we now include Level 4. Cehrmba helps complete the Dragonmaid archetype lore wise, since Chamber didn’t have her Dragon form exist as a card until now, and it is solid. It offers protection for Fusions and lets you recover your Dragonmaids to make plays again. All the Dragon forms of Dragonmaids you’d only need 1 of, though. They never really kickstart your plays and they’re extremely easy to recover and reuse in Dragonmaid, and Cehrmba is going to be no exception.

This week starts our coverage of the highly-anticipated Trinity Box support– we’ve only got time for Dragonmaid and P.U.N.K. this week, but at least it means we won’t have to skip any cards. The long-awaited Dragonmaid Cehrmba starts us off, a level 9 DARK Dragon monster, fitting for Chamber Dragonmaid’s Dragon form. You’re probably tired of me mentioning DARK Dragons being the best combination in Yugioh, but with new Rokket support on the horizon, no, I will not stop mentioning it! Kitchen Dragonmaid is the only reliable way to directly search it, though most of the time you’ll be sending it directly to the Graveyard with Parlor Dragonmaid or Dragonmaid Hospitality for reasons that will become quite clear. Its stats are solid enough, with 2800 attack but a rather disappointing 1800 defense, though it’s not that big of a deal thanks to Dragonmaid’s fantastic recycling and OTK power.

In a departure from the other Dragon forms, Cehrmba doesn’t protect itself while you control a Dragon Fusion monster; instead, it protects all of your Dragon Fusion monsters from your opponent’s destruction effects as long as it’s on the field. It’s a lot more useful than the self-protection from the other Dragon forms since you actually want House Dragonmaid and Dragonmaid Sheou to stay alive while the other Dragon forms can easily be revived by the low-level Dragonmaids if necessary. Cehrmba comes with 2 other hard once per turn effects, the first letting you discard it to Special Summon any Dragonmaid monster from your Graveyard or banishment. This isn’t as helpful as it looks since Dragonmaid Hospitality can revive from the Graveyard just fine and Lady’s Dragonmaid can recycle banished Dragonmaids, but it’s better than nothing! It’s a nice way to revive Sheou too if it ends up getting removed before it has a chance to tag out. Cehrmba’s last effect is shared with the other Dragon forms, though with a Chamber twist; it’ll trigger at the end of the Battle Phase to let you return it to the hand, then Special Summon any level 4 or lower Dragonmaid monster from your hand. Like Chamber, having the versatility to bring out any low-level Dragonmaid is convenient, so you can summon Nurse Dragonmaid without being forced to play the level 7 Dragons. In a pinch, it can also help extend past Hand Traps since you’ll often find your Normal Summon getting zinged– just go into Striker Dragon then revive the low-level Dragonmaid with Cehrmba. The most important part of Cehrmba, ironically, has nothing to do with its effects; it’s a target to send with Hospitality so that Chamber can set up summoning Lady’s Dragonmaid. It’s a bit depressing, but it’s still a pivotal role, so I can’t be too mad about it! Overall, while not exactly a bombshell card for Dragonmaid like many had hoped (that’s tomorrow’s card), you’ll still run it at 1 since it helps enable the actual bombshell card.

+Enables Lady’s Dragonmaid with Chamber Dragonmaid
+Decent extender in emergencies
-Effects are not particularly great as a combo piece
-Still mostly a glorified beater like most Dragon forms
