Knives101's Secret Weapons Lab

12.16.04  Today I have something special for my deck garage. For you see I am fixing my own deck. Now in order to fix this deck we gotta go back in time... WAY BACK!! Back to the days of base set. Back when I was still figuring out all the basics of the game. Back when I was still shaking off all my noobishness and playing things like Ucarn, and Gigageile. Back during the days of base set I never really had a good deck. So my first successful deck came shortly after Evo Crushinators of Doom came out. Here's what it looked like...

x4 Burning Mane
x4 Mighty Shouter
x4 Bronze Arm Tribe
x4 Barkwhip
x4 Natural Snare

x4 Meile
x4 Elmerald Grass
x4 Senatine Jade Tree
x4 Dia Nork
x4 Holy Awe

Not too shabby huh? The basic strategy was to overrun my opponents while tap/killing anything that got in my way. Nobody at my local tourney scene could beat this thing. They just couldn't deal with me casting Holy Awe, and then taking out their entire feild, or attacking their sheilds for the win.

A few days ago I decided to revive this deck for old times sake. Now these days there are a few better choices to run for the deck. So here's how it looked after being revived...

x4 Torcon
x4 Burning Mane
x4 Bronze Arm Tribe
x4 Barkwhip
x4 Natural Snare

x4 Elmerald Grass
x4 Sarius Vizier of Suppression
x4 Magris Vizier of Magnetism
x4 Mist Rias
x4 Holy Awe

The deck has gotten a major boost I'd say. Let's see, we've got an extra ST in the form of Torcon. We've got lots of drawing power with Mist Rias, and Magris. And best of all turn three Barkwhip is very, very, very easy to do thanks to having eight two mana evo baits.

The ideal play for this deck is turn one mana, turn two mana, beast folk, turn three mana, Whip, turn four mana, Magris, turn five mana, Mist Rias, turn six mana, and then lots o creatures with Mist Rias' effect. There are lots of other good plays for this deck. I'll let the readers figure them out.

Well anyway that's just proof that an old deck can always be revived. Try it yourself. Worms are getting back into style these days. Bounce decks are getting some nice cards to mess around with.

Or you guys could always send me an old deck of yours to revive. ;)
