Wrath of Dragons Duel Masters Tournament Report - Robby

Hey pojo Long time no write, stupid school and work been keeping me from goin to tournie. but it was nice to go to a tournament and play other things

besides andre's phal control.

i ditched dragon control and made it more agressive with control qualities.

Round 1-

Riley Davis ( r/u/b control ) vs Robby ( Aggro control )

Game 1-
riley starts out strong with discard, and i am able to hang on with e streams. i kill off his emeral turn 4 so he can't pull off the merfolk combo. Then i able to gaint some feild presence. I have a merfolk in hand, an emeral, corile, loco, and a jagalzar i just summoned. So i had to take attention away from my hand so i could pull merfolk off, because he didn't have that great of a feild and i could take out all 5 sheilds that turn. So i did, and he got no st's. That blows i've been there. well he can't kill everything on my feild so he scoops and we proceed to game 2.

Gmae 2 -
riley starts out again with strong discard keep my hand low and me with minimul options. But i keep the lost soul in my hand and i am able to keep it in my hand till turn 7. so were both top decking, while i have to cyber lords on feild while he has 0. so i do top deck a merfolk and put myself in a comfortable position. well he pulls merfolk off as well but i have a lost soul in hand so i am pretty comfortable right now. soon i pull out jagalzar,

then i pull bolmeteus out and i make him a speed attaker and finish riley off.

Round 2!
Robby vs Andre ( phal control )
andre has never beaten me in an official tournament but when we play at eachothers houses we trade off wins, lately his top deckin abilities have been uncanny and he's been getting precisely what he need at just the right time, which when u play that over and over again it gets really annoying.

Game 1-
well knowing what to do against his deck really really helped he hates HATES

aggro. but if u can't pull off the aggressivnesss then he is prolly goin to win. so i handle him very well. He apparently drew 3 holy awes and i could tell he did from his mana. so i empty his hand and all he has left is a apocalypse vice in his hand. i knew this thanks to phal eaga. So i play merfolk on my turn and i get three cards to hand putting me at 5, and him at

one. guess what he top decks? Lost Soul. so i am able to recover and i have
3 monsters on the feild and i summon jagalzar and i nail all 5 sheilds, not really fearing any sheild triggers. and all 5 gone, so he can't get rid of all of em and i have a bazagazeal neway so i win.

Game 2-
well game 2 goes much easier for me, he can't really establish any kind of control because i go for his sheilds once again, bolly smashes two and two other monsters rip another two sheilds. he holds out for a bit but eventually falls and i take the win.

Game 3
Me vs Gordon Kane ( Initiates with green search and accel ) Gordon wins die roll ( i haven't won all day ) and opts to go first.

Game 1-
wooooo i look at my hand and its definatly not good, he accels mana putting me way behind, and i can't get his mist rias off the feild. also he summons two cryptic totems and hell i get my ars kicked.

Game 2-
well i go first and he once again excells mana and bring out multiple mist rias, but i handle em relatively well with volcano chargers and terror pits and i eventually drain his hand and his feild, and i just summon bolly's until he dies.

Game 3 -
this was probably one of the best games i have ever played, he had amazing control until FINALLY i gained control and thought i had it. well he tops decks and evo with fire stealth and hits my last two sheilds and he puts me in a bind. Well i go for the wins while he has 3 sheilds left, i blast two with bolly and ones a mana nexus and a throw away card. the last sheild must

be a holy awe or a mana nexus, and i already blasted two mana nexus' from his sheilds, and one was in his mana, so i hit the last sheild, and its a holy awe and i lose.

Record 2-1 matches, games 5-2

Round 4-
Montey Eads ( akward aggro deck ) vs Me
well top 4 has been decided no matter what and so we just decide a draw and go to the top 4.

Gordan Kane vs Me

Game 1-
well gordon is evil and brings out plenty of evo's and i can't get rid of mist rias so he takes a quick game 1 with little resistance.

Game 2-
well i put up a big big big fight and do everything i can to stay alive, BUT

gordon is able to keep me at bay with a constant draw and a surplus of evo's

he takes me down and wins.

well i made it to finals and it seemed liek forever since i had made finals,

and it felt good to be in finals again, one thing i was missing from my deck

was crystal memories, and unfortunatly no one had them, and i think those 4 memories would have made a big diffrence, can't wait till two weeks from now

to try again!
