well hey pojo!, I thought I'd give people a a new an fresh report of what we have all been waiting for. The pre release.

now in my opinion i was not very pleased with this set at all personally.
But a lot of people were like ah this set is great.

so lets get on with the tournament:

Time: 11:00 am
Place: Comic Asylum
Deck:
well i pulled crappy crappy crappy holos, one holo is all. that stupid dark lord evo while i only drew one dark lord, joy! on the other hand tho i did get a plentiful amount of commons and uncommons and some pretty decent rares. so here's the deck.

Red: ( this was the most plentiful amount of cards i pulled and i hafta say red was the most powerful along with darkness for the pre release )

Yellow: ( this set wasw pretty blocker heavy and light saved my butt a few times ) jil Warka, Time Gaurdian x 2 Kalute, Vizier of Eternity x 1 Cosmic Wing x 2 Tra Rion, Penumbra Guardian x2 United Resistance x 1 ( card blows ) Betrale, the Explorer ( not bad )

Darkness: ( very helpful during this format with blockers and plenty of recursionand kill monsters ) Trixo, Wicked Doll x 3 Acid Reflux, The Fleshboiler x2 Zombie Caranival x 3 Gabzagul, Warlord of Pain x 1 Grinning Hunger x 1

Nautre: ( sadly nature had some of the best removal in this format and was useful but not necessary )

Total: 37, a decent pull but nothing spectacular

Soon enough pairing are called and we start round 1

Round 1
Robby vs Bradly

Game 1 -
bradly, well what can i say about bradly he's very confident in himself. He has insane luck. well anyway, things start of good for me, and he brings out like 10 friggin blockers and i hafta use gigios hammer effect most of the time to even get past his 5000 blockers, ( gigios effect is that you can tap him and one monster gains 4000 power atker for the turn ) and i pull the first win.

Game 2-
brad, draws extremely well and is top decking exactly what he needs and has a smile while he is doin it, and uses a beast folk evo to run my blockers to hell. Eventually he is able to take me out by using his few beast folk he has to over run me.

Game 3-
brads 4 5000 uncommon blockers he pulled were killing me, and when i finally got rid of em all he used zombie carnival ( u declare on race and bring up to 3 of em from your grave to your hand ) and he pretty much did the same exact thing to beat me 2nd game.

Well that blows....
Record 0-1 matches, games 1-2

one thing about this event was that we ALWAYS got to the time limit because most of the decks were so slow, and most of the drops were three or four.
but neway after a long wait round 2 started.

Round 2!
Robby vs I forget his name i think it started with a D.
Game 1-
well he's playing something very similar to me, and actually pulled better cards than me, but thanks to his player error, and the misconstruing of cards i was able take the win pretty much because i was a more experienced player ( o yea this guy was i'd say about 10-13 years old so i had a bit of an edge being 18 )

Game 2 -
this time my deck combos very well with each other, cosmic wings do some damage ( comic wings makes one creature unblockable ) and my Shock Trooper Mykee is take out monsters left and right ( he's the only speed atker in the set, and whenever he atks opponent unblocked he can destroy one 3000 or less creature ) so i mass out some weenies and take the game.

Yay!

50 minutes later...

Round 3!

Robby vs I forget his name ( he was a new player to DM and was goin to start regularly coming )

Game 1-
well kudos to this guy for trying, he was a nice man. He was polite and we talked alot and said i'd help him with a deck and things like that he started coming more often. well lets just say i did not have an extremly hard time winning this game.
Game 2-
pretty much the same thing like game 1 except a bit slower.

well i finished up real quick so i sat around for a LONG time.....

Round 4!

Robby vs Carl
uh oh! carl top 4'd at epic dragons 5 civ's and was beating people left and right, this match pretty much determined if i made top 8 or not!

Game 1 -
things start out bad, and they only got worse. He's hitting me with monsters left and right and i hafta stabalize with my Acid Reflux, the felsh boiler ( 3000 blocker/slayer 5 mana ) to control his feild and save my sheilds. Shock Trooper Mykee Shows up and starts taking out his monsters and sheilds quickly making me pull the victory out of my ass.

Game 2-
o christ this game was tough. Were goin at it and he's got me down to two sheilds while he has 5. My acid reflux shows up again and he doesn't have a big response. Well he builds a sizamable force of blockers, and Trix and Mykee Both do some kill thanks to cosmic wing ( trix has a smiliar effect as mykee exept your opponent gets to choose ). Well i some how come back and get him down to one sheild, and i have two atackers. and he has count em 3 blockers with one atker that is tapped that has 2000 power,while i had 1 with no sheilds, but heres what i do. My blocker is Jil Warka, Time Gaurdian, while he has a jilwarka on the feild ( jilwarkas effect is that when he is destroyed i can choose 2 opponent creatures in the battle zone and tap em ) so i have a cosmic wings in my hand and i ploay it on my jilwarka, and i suicide it into his 2000 atker. So i get to choose two monsters to tap, so i choose his two blockers, and i swing with my two atkers for the win.

PHEW!
Record 3-1 matches, 7-2 games

well that took a while so i wasn't waiting around for TOO long when the final round was called

Robby vs Gordon Kane

we calculated the points and we both made top 8! yay!

Round 1!
Robby vs Jason
well jason had been owning alot of people today and i was not happy about this match at all....

Game 1-
well well well jason starts out really strong, i mean really strong. He attacking me left and right and i dono whats hitting me. It takes me all 5 of my sheilds while he still has all of his to stablize with some blockers that could actually stick. My zombie carnivals let me get back my monsters and give me stabalization again, but he was playing cosmic wings so i was definatly scared for the game. well i get rid of all his attackers and i build up a humongous force and just start wiping out all his sheilds. he trys to pull a fast one on me and pull out blockers, but i get past them and i take the first game.

Game 2-
this game is pretty much in jasons favor, he starts off strong again, but
this time can only knock me down to two sheilds. before i stablize with a
mix of blockers and attackers, and he does the same strategy as me, biding
our time. well he gets a cosmic wing first and breaks my sheilds while
owning most of my blockers, he has 7 monsters taped with one blocker on the
feild, i have 4 atackers that can only take out 2 and suicide with two. Well
thats the feild he had until i played Fist of Forever ( this card allows my
monster to untap himself every time he destroyed a creature in battle ) so i
used it on my Snaptongue lizard ( when atking creatures he cannot be blocked
) and he takes every single one of his creatures in just one turn. then he
pretty much gives up, i keep amassing monsters while he is only prolongin
the inevitable by summoing annoying blockers. Eventually a take the game and
the match.

Top 4!

Robby vs Bradly again

Game 1-
bradly takes the game solidly by top decking everything he needs at the
right time, while i don get a whole lot.

Game 2-
well this game is much closer, i have an array of blockers and attakers
while he has like 5 blockers and 2 atakers that are beastfolk, and he uses
one beastfolks effect that allows one race not to be blocked by creatures by
3000 or less, well i have a 5000 blocker, and neither him nor i realize that
is says 3000 or less, so he takes the win by making his beast folk
unblockable. well of course someone realizes this AFTER the entire friggin
game is over and doesn't bother to mention it when it happens, so i lose to
a error in play.

ah well top 4 at my second release event is not that bad at all.

well i get 4 packs and pull one holo that is not that great at all so i
pretty much throw it in the useless holo bracket and put it up for trade.

I hope this game you guys some insite on how this set has impacted the meta
( by that i meant by not a whole lot )
