Well to my displeasure Comic Chest hasn’t been on the internet lately. So I figured I’ll do it myself. This is my first time writing for Pojo but hopefully I’ll get better.

Round 1 Me vs. Carl - Crazy Val Control

Match 1: L Great I had to face Carl. He’s probably my hardest opponent to play against. However I can count him for an outstanding duel. I was able to get a great start with a 2-3-4 hand. The duel went back and forth until a came back with Slaphappy and Magnus. I was able to save comet missile for this Thrash Crawler. At the end I had 5 creatures and didn’t have any. WIN

Match 2: I started with a great hand and had a great start. But Carl got a 4th turn Thrash Crawler which made Magnus useless. Every time I a played a human Volcano Charger came right after it so I couldn’t play Valdios. Carl eventually finished me off with Crazy Val and Solar Grass. LOSE

Match 3: This turned out be the almost like the last match. I was facing an army of Thrash Crawlers and Sarius. No triggers. Carl left me in a top deck situation until Crazy Val, Solar Grass and Magmadragon Jagalzor just owned me. LOSE

Round 2 Me vs. Jimmy - Dragons

Match 1: I had a great start with Magnus taking shields until Trash Crawler showed up. I couldn’t draw Comet Missile to save my life. When Bolzard showed up I was finished. At the end of the duel I had 2 mana left and a Searing Wave sitting in my hand. LOSE

Match 2: I was drawing spells so good in this duel. He couldn’t keep monster on the field. I was able to Wave an army of Fire Birds. Eventually double Magnus brought the win. WIN

Match 3: I was able to get massive field presence before he could get any blocker on the field. When he got Thrash Crawler out I had some Comet Missiles saved up. For the rest of the duel I was able control him with Slaphappy. WIN

Round 3: Me vs. Ryan – Mono Light

Match 1: I wasn’t too thrilled to face a light duelist but that soon changed. With a 2nd turn Rikabu S. I was able to control the field. However R. S. fell and I was stuck against Senatine Jade Tree and Spiral Grass. Here is when luck shined down when I drew Valdios. For the rest the game Valdios cleared the field for Mini Titan Gett and Rikabu D.J WIN

Match 2: I had a rocky start with an expensive hand and Sol Galla, Halo Guardian taking shields. Finally Valdios showed up and took all his shields. The duel turned when Crazy Val Killed Valdios L To my luck he triggered Comet Missile and Tornado Flame at the same time to let Magnus go through. WIN

Round 4: Me vs. Kendall Dark Water Nature aggro

Match 1: It has been a while since I dueled Kendall so I wasn’t too sure what I was facing but this should be fun anyway. Comet Missile brought the victory here. His first wave of creatures was blockers. By the time he had attackers set up I had field advantage. I love cheap fire creatures. To my luck he couldn’t trigger anything to save himself. WIN

Match 2: This duel went the same as the first one. I was getting heavy spells and was able to control him well. Eventually 2 chainsaw triggered out. Soon there after Magnus sealed the deal. WIN

Final 4

Me, Carl, Kendall and Christian

Semifinals Me vs. Carl L

I wasn’t thrilled to duel Carl again but I figured I could get payback.

Match 1: To my disliking Volcano Charger ruined any chance of Valdios seeing play. Despite this I was able to keep the pressure on. Eventually I broke all his shields but I believe those shields helped out. He brought a swarm of blockers and I was left in a bad top deck situation. Carl brought an outstanding with a Jagalzor and a Solor Grass combo. LOSE.

Match 2: I think the last dueled cursed me. I could not keep creatures on the field. When I could get an offense going out comes Crazy Val to ruin everything. I hate Volcano Charger. L LOSE Oh well this was one the best duels I had in a long time. J

Battle for the bronze

Me vs. Kendall

Match 1: After heavy spell control I was able to own the zone with 2 Valdios on the field. WIN J

Match 2: This fuel came to be the same as before. Even the first 4 moves were the same. Missile soldier and Slaphappy kept control of the field until double Magnus took the game. WIN

Pros:

Made final 4

Carl helped me with some cars I needed and some awesome trades.

I helped a noob build an awesome deck.

Carl was the only person to beat me. Nice job on his part.

Cons:

Not many people showed up.

Mr. D raised the membership fees L

I never got to duel Christian.

Lessons learned:

Volcano Charger destroyed me. To prevent this I’ll switch out Mini Titan Gett with Explosive Joe so Valdios can see more play. I never used Mega Detonator once. It will be replaced with another Magma Gazer. This card helped me today by creating a must block situation ridding the field of power blockers. No one wants to see Immortal Baron break two shields on the 3rd turn.
