Tournament of The Five Civilizations

Hello Pojo readers, to yet another tournament report from Brandon Schmidt. I had been waiting for this tournament since school began, as I was bored out of my mind. Why cant we have recess later in school? Ah well. Today was a lot of fun, almost more fun than Invitation Circuit, which I will be playing in in the upcoming future. Now that Cantrell already won a paid trip, he can't play another one and Florio is in the 15 and up division. I now have a shot at winning that trip and only the Fordham brothers stand in my way. Ok, enough about me, let's go to Pre-Tournament stuff!

Well I didn't think I would make it to the store on time, because some ***holes HAD to do construction on a major road during the afternoon hours of a SATURDAY. What retards...Anyway, I called the store to find out what time they wre starting and Thank god it was a 30 minute delay. We finally made it to the store, and I registered, and saw the familiar faces of Steven Cantrell, Matt Gracek, and only TWO of the Fordham brothers. Ok, time for the decklist. (you'd thought I never shutup didn't you?)

ROUND ONE: Brandon vs. (Sorry forgot your name)

I didn't take very good notes so this is purely out of memory.

First turn, the kid laid down Invincible Technology. I knew at that moment I had the game won. I was now casually dueling, and watched Matt Gracek and Steven Cantrell take on their opponents. Steven C, was dueling Steven F. Steven Fordham, HAD IN FACT, copied Steven Cantrell's deck. Next thing you know, he's gonna copy mine...lol Anywho, back to my duel. I let hime keep using Charmilla the Enticers effect, but never once did he get something decent. He summoned Bolshack Dragon, which was promply Corile'd, then Smoked. Merfolk came next, then Lancer to finish him off.

Duel Two: No need going into detail. My Lancer "raped" him until he had nothing left.

Key cards: Bolshack Dragon, Charmilla the Enticer

ROUND TWO

Brandon vs. Shaun Coleman

Shaun is an overall good player, as I had played him in the previous Circuit. His deck was pretty much the same, a red/black deck. This duel was an overall good duel for me. I managed to rid his hand of Pyrofighters pretty quickly. He broke several of my shields which most of them were Triggers. I evoed and hit him hard for the win.

This duel was iffy. I didn't get any 3 drop cards in opening hand, nor anything that cost below that. I eventually drew some helpful cards, and it came down to it. He had 2 creatures on the field, no shields, while I had a small hand, and I also had no shields. I just needed one more turn...I needed a blocker. I played Energy Stream...Merfolk...then Squito!!!! I almost jumped up and yelled something that would have disquilified me...imagine if I didnt draw it lol. I played Squito, and he passed his turn and I evoed and won this duel. My first time being undefeated in round 2. I was most unlucky to face Justin Fordham next round.

Key Cards: Pyrofighter Magnus, Rikabu The Dismantler, Terror Pit

ROUND THREE: Brandon vs. Justin Fordham

No one knew what kinda deck Justin would be running, so I assumed red/blue aggro. I was wrong. He layed down a Chaos Worm as mana first turn and I sighed, preparing for a long, hard battle ahead of me. This was war, and in war, only one side wins. The other...has to lose. (Hopefully someone will use that line one day :) )

Well this match went both ways. He got me down to no shields, and I had six creatures to his two. He had a Squito and I had Paladin on the field. I evo'ed a Hulcas and started smacking shields. The final shield was a friggen Terror Pit. WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF THAT???? I was really mad now.

Well this one I won. Dont remember a thing though...lol

Well this one was very close. At the very end we were the last ones dueling. We were smacking each others shields. He won the duel cause I hit another Pit and I lost.

Key cards: Chaos Worm, Corile, Aqua Hulcas

I already knew I was in the Top Four, but I wouldnt be if I lost my next duel.

ROUND FOUR: Brandon vs. Josh???

Well this kid had beaten Matt Gracek using a mono light deck, although I have no idea how. That was what probably took Matt out of the Top Four, especially a 2-0 loss. This kid depended highly on his blockers and Mist Rias to keep his hand a flow. I used a Wave to take out most of his creatures, then I used Crystal Paladin and attacked for the victory.

Same as last duel, Searing Wave killed his weenies, then Paladin made short work on his blockers.

Well the Top Four were: Brandon Schmidt, Justin Fordham, Stephen Fordham, and Steven Cantrell. I got paired with Stephen Fordham.

I dont remember anything about this duel except that I lost both duels, because that little brat copyied Steven's deck, and he ended up finishinig me off with a Cryptic Totem.

Well Kyle (the storeowner) gave us some nice stuff. Instead of giving me 7 packs, 3 extra Photocide promos, and a deckbox. I was about to leave and I said thank you, and was so happy he gave me 3 extra packs because I said thank you...he's really nie guy

PROPS:

Getting 6 promos, although they really aren't that good, but they are cool looking

Trading for some nice stuff, including a Terror Pit promo from Steven C

It being so much fun

Kyle being an awesome guy

Getting 10 packs, which Cryptic Totem was in there

Getting the stuff I needed to complete my new, top secret deck which will win me the next Circuit

SLOPS:

Idiots doing construction on MAJOR roads on a Saturday and messing up traffic

Not many good holos in my prize packs

Steven Fordham for copying Steven's deck

Anyone that has a promo Holy Awe for trade please email me and maybe we can work out a trade, as I have many holos.
