Hi. It's Toiletheadbrett and this is my first tourney report but, before I tell you what happened here is my decklist:

WATER
1 paladin (its all i got)
4 hulcus
4 gate
2 emeral
4 corile
4 shock hurricane
2 brain serum
2 merfolk

DARKNESS
4 bloody squito
4 death smoke
4 terror pit
4 horrid worm
2 lost soul



Pre-Tourney:
Well, today did not start out so great. I did not want my sister to come along but, she did :(. I also wish I had brought all my cards for trade as I thought we would be taking the metro but, we drove so I only brought my deck. There was no traffic even though there was MASSIVE road work. When we got to the store we had to wait until it opened (about an hour). I bought a few packs form thundercharge which had nothing great in them. We finally started about a half hour late and I was excited for invitationals in the -14 division.


Round 1 vs. some kid with red rush

Duel 1: Things did not start out great. I drew NO BLOCKERS the entire duel. I had no choice but to break his shields, I didn't want to be a sitting duck. I also had no shield triggers. Needless to say I was done. 0-1

Duel 2: Ahhhh......much better. Drew plenty of control and had almost all shield triggers. I also had him topdecking for a very long time. This was an easy win 1-1

Duel 3: Again, lucky shields and draws. This was over very quickly for some reason even though we went to about turn 8 which is usually the turn I win on. Lancer delivered the final blow. 2-1


Round 2 vs Noah with light/water/fire

Duel 1: This was possibly the easiest duel all day. He only got out a few creatures and they were all destroyed. And they were all blockers but, when I looked in his deck (which was rather large) he only had 1 or 2 diamond cutter I believe. This match was also over quickly. Thanks Lancer! 3-1

Duel 2: He got out a FEW non-blockers (metalwing, bolzard). It was still a very easy match and my shields were good. He only broke 2 though :). 4-1

That was over fast but not as fast as this next duel which was the only duel that made me angry.


Round 3 vs guy who I doubt is under 15 (mono red)

Duel 1: Alright let me tell you something about the judge, he has no idea how to play. You untap before you draw and absolutely no one did that but me. This guy didn't......ever. The judge came over and basically said it didn't matter when you untapped which made me mad since I can't argue with a judge. I lost due to the noob judge. 4-2

Duel 2: Read duel 1 again. 4-3


Round 4 vs Arthur or something blue/green with holy awes.

Duel 1: I hate water/nature evos. He got out like every evo I have ever seen. 4-4

Duel 2: This got down to the last shields. I knew 1 was snare and the other was nexus and I didn't have the blockers to survive another turn so, I just attacked and it didn't matter. It was exactly like that 1 duel on the DM show....except without bolmeteus to save me... 4-5

Fun duel vs David (kokujo on the pojo boards) blue / green

We dueled because we had the same match record, 3-2.

Duel 1: He had some torcons and BATs. I had a lot of blockers and I won thanks to lancer and friends.

Duel 2: He stalled with nexus at the end. He could have lasted another turn since he put an aqua surfer in his shields but, he said he didn't have anything that could beat me anyway. (I had 3 shields, a lancer, I think I had a corile, and I had another creature that I forgot.

Round 5 vs some kid with every civ but nature


Duel 1: This wasn't even remotely challenging. I beat him on turn 6. With a blue/black control. That is about the time that a rush deck wins. 5-5

Duel 2: Again, wasn't a challenge. He didn't even break a shield. I had 3 terror pits in there and I didn't even use emeral either games. I lost souled his hand. He claims he could have killed my lancer with bazagazeal and it wouldn't have mattered as it would die the second it hit my shields.


I sadly didn't make the top 4 :*******(. I came in 8th place out of 32 people which wasn't bad. David (kokujo) got 7th. I beat the judge (who doesn't know how to play) after the tourney just cause I was mad at him for not knowing the rules. The judge's name was Calvin or something...incase anyone wants to not let him be a judge.

Well, that's it for my tourney report. Although there were many slops it was fun.
