Hello, pojo readers.  My name is Christian and I play Duel Masters at Comic Chest in Virginia Beach, VA.  This tournament was on 5/7/05 and there were seven participants.  I play a Water/Darkness agro control strategy called the "Dead Sea".

My awesome mom also plays a Fire/Nature DM deck, but I won't list it here.  Today we left our house at about one o'clock because I thought the tournament would start at about two, and I needed to trade for some more Terror Pits.  I wound up only getting one more but I should get more next week.  Anyway, with the addition, here was the deck I was playing.

The Dead Sea
Water (22)
4 Crystal Lancer
2 Crystal Paladin
4 Aqua Hulcus
4 Aqua Guard
4 Corile
4 Spiral Gate
Darkness (20)
4 Chaos Worm
4 Horrid Worm
2 Gregorian Worm
4 Marrow Ooze, the Twister
4 Death Smoke
2 Terror Pit

The tournament was swiss style and places were judged by your overall ranking in matches.  Now, on to round one!

Round One-Christian VS. Malcom
Duel One-Malcom was playing a rainbow deck, so I didn't really know what to expect.  However, it was actually pretty easy.  A late Corile won it for me as my control had left him with no options.    WIN
Duel Two-This game closely resembled our last duel.  The only difference was that I had two Horrid Worms on the field which completely destroyed his hand.  I made him keep top-decking and I won.    WIN

Stats after round one-     Duels    Matches
    Christian-                          2-0        1-0
    Mom-                                2-1        1-0

Round Two-Christian VS. Phillip
Duel One-Phillip is my friend from Yu-Gi-Oh who was ALSO playing a rainbow deck.  I got a very slow start.  He got out a Deadly Fighter Braid Claw on his first turn and the lowest card in my hand was Aqua Hulcus.  He played a very good game and I thought I would win sooner than I did.  I won when I Spiral Gated his Deathblade Beetle and attacked with Gregorian Worm.  When I did so, I only had one shield left.    WIN
Duel Two-I got a kinda slow start again, but Horrid Worm destroyed his hand early in the game.  Later, he Spiral Gated my Crystal Lancer when he had no shields and I had four.  On his turn he played Sundrop Armor to put a Terror Pit into hid shield zone and I got Lancer out again on my turn and ran into it =(.  However, I came back to win with Gregorian Worm.    WIN

Stats after round two-    Duels    Matches
    Christian-                        4-0        2-0
    Mom-                               4-1        2-0

Round Three-BYE
These are one-half of a win for the match.  I used the time to work on my notes for the previous matches, and then I just walked around the store, bored out of my skull.

Stats after round three-    Duels    Matches
    Christian-                           4-0        2.5-0
    Mom-                                 6-2        3-0

Round Four-Christian VS. Sandra (a.k.a. Mom)
Duel One-Well, I got to play my mom, so I wasn't too worried.  Like I said before, she played Fire/Nature.  This game was pretty easy, and I hardly had any real trouble beating her.    WIN
Duel Two-This game was also pretty easy.  Her speed attackers got me down to no shields and posed a pretty big problem,  but my late game control took over and I won with a Chaos Worm.    WIN

Well, the final standings were announced, and I came in first, going undefeated in matches.  My mom, only losing one match which was to me, came in second with Phillip coming in third.  The prize I picked was a Kokujo starter deck because it has a Terror Pit in it.  Now I have three, and Jacob should bring one to trade me next week=).  Now for pros and cons!

PROS
Me coming in first
Mom coming in second
Jacob for running the tournament
Me getting two more Terror Pits
Jacob because I KNOW he will remember to bring another Terror Pit next weekend

CONS
Jacob for forgetting his Terror Pit
Carl for not showing up
