Wizard WOrld TOurnament in Texas - Robby Stewart

well this weekend was the Wizard WOrld TOurnament in Texas, and 24 people participated in the tournament, with a 64 person limit we obviously did not meet that limit. i belive this was because u had to pay to just get IN to the convention center, and still pay tournie fee. while yugioh din hafta pay

for the convention. so i think that's why a lot of locals din go, and a lot of naiton wide people din come because nationals was the week before and people were broke. so we din have a huge turn out, BUT that doesn't mean the

competition was poor and it wasn't fun, infact it was really hard and real fun.

pretty large deck, and i haven't really tested it in a tournie yet. Also this is my first big tournie i have EVER participated in so lets see how i did.


Round 1
Robby ( Dragon Control ) vs Eric ( Rush ) i hate rush.........

Round 1-
i won the die roll, so i was happy about that, but that doesn't mean it'd be

easy my deck is weak to rush.
Game 1-

RT1- i set red mana
Et1- Braid claw
Rt2 - Ghost touch
Et2 - koc poloon
Rt3- hulcus
Et3- rikabu = ownage

i wind up losing this one cuz of no sheild triggers and no way to even come back.

Game 2-
game 2 = game 1. i lose

Record -
0-1 crap bad way to start off.

Round 2-

Robby ( Dragons ) vs. No show.

the guy signed up but just left i guess, i sat around twiddling my thumbs and worrying about my record cuz this no show can hurt me by the tie breaker

standards, if it came down to that.

Record 1-1 by doin jack squat that sucks.

Round 3-

Robby ( Dragons ) vs David ( Survivors ) NOOO! david and i hafta play eachother, that's bad cuz i only like to play david if i hafta cuz he's such a good player. and i guess ihad to now.

Game 1-
I draw coco lupia and bolzard in my first hand, i was like YES! if i could handle is mana then he couldn't bust out the survivors and i could take the win. That's exactly what i do, i turn 3 lupia then turn 4 bolzard and turn 5

bolmeteus then turn 6 evolve my bolzard into Bajula. and take a quick first game win.

Game 2-
this time david is first, and he's able to bust out those survivors on me, i

was sorta handling them until he drew grave worm, and blam factory shell + graveworm = i lose. It was a good duel, but i just couldn't hold on.

Game 3-
I start out with one peice of the puzzle to stoping david in my hand, and that's bolzard dragon. Well on my turn 3 i draw coco lupia and i do exaclty what i did in game 1. i bring bolzard out and on turn 5 bolmeteus hits the feild. well this time, i atk with bolzard and it hits a trigger, Terror Pit.

He chooses bolmeteus because it would taken two sheilds out and he coudl still get lucky and my bolzard could hit another trigger. Well he sets a mana and on my turn i bust out another bolmeteus. and i hit another trigger with bolzard, Natural Snare. and he hasta once again choose bolmeteus. Well after that he's got no more triggers and bazagazeal hits the board for the win.

Record
2-1 matches , 4-3 games

Round 4-
Robby ( Dragons ) vs Tieler ( B/U control ) finally a standard control deck, something im used to.

game 1-
well things start off pretty slow, nothing big happens till my bolzards hit the feild at the same time, and i start controling the board. then bolmeteus

hits the feild and it slowly ends the duel.

game 2-
pretty much a repeat of game one except this time, he holds out for a lot longer because he keeps top decking bounce when i have bolmeteus out, then i

finally just bust out two bolts on the same turn and it ends from there.

Record
3-1 matches, 6-3 games

well before the final round started they showed us where we were and that added alot of tension, i was currently in 7th place. meaning if i lose i prolly wont make finals.

Round 5
Robby ( Dragons ) vs Brad ( 3cc R/U/B )
well i beat brad earlier in the morning so lets see how i did this time.

Game 1-
well he realizes from this morning that he gotta hit my sheilds fast or i will tear him to shreds, and thats what he does. he tried it earlier in the morning but a burst shot always messed him up, and a burst shot was in my sheilds, he just din hit it at the right time for me to come back into the game, i wind up losing.

Game 2-
repeat of game one except this time no burst shot, i do get a terror pit tho, it only hlelps momentarily, he pulls off merfolk, and that was the end

of that.

Record -
3-2 matches, 6-5 games

there were a TON of 3 twos, and 3 would wind up making it in

8. dono

well turns out brad din make it neway, and it made him feel pretty crappy because if i won i woulda made it in, so he kinda just made it so that neither of us made it in, ahh well i end up 10th place, brad ends up 9th and

woodward ends up 11th. so that SUCKS! but i had a good time.

Josh winds up winning the tournament and he goes undefeated the entire day.

he was 5-0 entering finals and he became 8-0 the entire day. pretty good, earlier in the day too i lent him cards and he won with em.

Montey lost to a lucky holy awe in erics sheilds, and he was not to pleased about that.

well david, brad, and i decide we would do better at the 5 civi tournament coming up in two weeks. so stay tuned!

o yea i need help working on dragon control. so i can make it awesome by 5 civi tournament comes around
