Dragons Fury Tournament Report Comic Assylum Plano Tx Robby Stewart

Hey pojo! Robby here with another tournament report, well with my first tournament landing me a 4th place victory i was pretty pleased with my deck, during that span i made minor changes and stuff like taht, and overall i thought i made it better, key word THOUGHT! lets see how this tournament went.

Date- 8-20-05
Place and Prize- Comic Assylum & 2 promos and 4 packs of anything you wanted
Fee: 5 Dollars
Participants: 15 nice number considering most of the regulars were out playing magic.

Prologue:
well i was excited i borrowed some cards since at the moment i din think the deck was complete. But my friend andre was there with me so i'll record his tournament success of failure as well.

Duel 1
Dragons Fury vs Fire/Light bolmeteus splashed in

Game 1-
well i never played this guy before so i wasn't sure what to expect but i wasn't too nervous. so we start playing, and i get my mana accel out, but the only problem with that though is i have no friggin hand to back it up so im top decking and he gets some big blocker out that i can't kill so i lose.

Game 2-
same as game 1, he uses Apocolypse Vice three times in this duel, twice to get rid a Bolmeteus and CoCo Lupia, then one more time to get rid of two coco's and two bronze arms OUCH. i lose.

Andre 0-1 matches, 0-2 games ( he lost to some light deck while he ran blue,green,black control )

Round 2!

Dragons Fury vs Demon Command Speed Deck

Game 1-
this deck is really unique and it did very well! i enjoyed losing to it!
hahaha he was a good guy. played it good, this game though he top decked, daidalos that 4 mana demon command guy and beat with him, i just coudn't get him off the field.

Game 1-
same thing, this time death was quicker!

Andre 1-1 matches, 2-2 games

damn my chances of finals SUCK!

Round 3!

Dragons Fury vs Control
standard control blue black with holy awe splashed in.

Game 1-
I pull out bolmeteus turn 5 and he can't get rid of it, so i win.

Game 2- he just amass' a whole bunch of monsters and im praying for a searing, wave cuz it would clear out all of his monsters, and when he attacks for the win, i look at my next card and it was searing wave.

Game 3-
same thing as game two i was waiting for the searing wave and i never got it, he amassed to much stuff for my bazagazeal could kill.

DAMNIT

Round 4!

Dragons Fury vs Bye

well that's cool i losing horrindously and i got the bye what a way to go down honorably, well i do remember andre's duel, it was to the guy in first round, so heres Andre's duel.

Andre( green/blue/black control ) vs red/yellow thing

Game 1-
one of andre's major flaw's is that he has a tough time handling rush, and that applied to this duel. Pyrofighter was screwing him up royally. He also could not kill pyro even with his hand destruction. And he couldn't get a shield trigger for his life. he actually could have killed pyro, because at one point, pyro was the only card in the guys hand, and andre got a locomotiver out of his shields, instead of taking it to his hand and summoning it on his turn when pyro was in his hand, he wasn't thinking and he summoned it out for no particular reason.

Game 2-
andre gets like 3 coriles in a row, and the guy cannot come back from it, so when andre has a big enough force, he uses cryptic totems effect, and wins the duel.

Game 3-
andre's got no shileds, and the guys got a pyro in his hand, so andre brings out FDF and goes for the win, the guys got 4 shields, and andre's got FDF, Corile, Merfolk, and Emeral. Just enough. well he lucked out and the guy got no holy awes or terror pits.

Andre 3-1 matches, 6-2 games

well i sure as hell didn't make finals, but andre did! he went in as third place. BUT andre had to drop because he had to take a girl home. hahaha well i was like dude i'd take his place, but they wouldn't let me.

well that tournie sucked compared to my first one! well after the tournament i got a really good tip from my 2nd round opponent, he tried out a red/blue dragon control deck, now the concept sounds good, but he generally did not win. So i decided to add in the blue element but only use the draw power.
so i took out my black for now because i wanted to see how my green works.
so if my green doesn't work next week, ima put the black in, the black was mostly my shield trigger savior things. But i did modify my green to less mana acceleration and less acceleration, just enough to where i don burn out my hand in like 4 turns. so here what the deck looks like ATM, im still working on it so you gimme your opinions on it.
