The Drawing Cards ; Breakdown Part 2
Oct 25, 2005

Well, first off, kudos to Cecillbill for writing so many articles.  I think that I may try to tie her in number of articles, but definitely not beat her, especially in the way she details hers.  Water got the only drawing cards available in Epic Dragons.  "Why??" you may ask.  Because Water is well, Water.  That being said, try and read these next six cards without getting distracted.  Thanks xD.

Name: Aqua Grappler
Cost: 5
Race: Liquid People
Civilization: Water
Type: Creature
Rules Text:
Whenever this creature attacks, you may draw a card for each other tapped creature you have in the battle zone.
Power: 3000

First up for Epic Dragons will be Aqua Grappler.  This creature is interesting, though I don't know that it will work great in a Constructed format. If it does manage to last a turn, your opponent doesn't have any blockers, and you can swing with at least three other creatures without hitting any shield triggers, you can then actually gain something from this card.  However, that is all best case scenario.  I would like to congratulate anyone that builds a deck around this creature.  Good luck xD

Name: Aqua Hulcus
Cost: 3
Race: Liquid People
Civilization: Water
Type: Creature
Rules Text:
When you put this creature into the battle zone, you may draw a card.
Flavor Text:
Liquid People freely control liquid. For them, water is armor and shield.
Power: 2000

Ahh.. everyone's favorite little 3-drop.  Aqua Hulcus has found its way into many decks for the fact that it is: evo-bait, card advantage, easily playable, and has no side effect.  This is one of those cards that is great for many decks.  The only drawback with this card would be its competitor, Energy Stream.  Other than that, this card deserves some spots in your deck.

Name: Astral Warper
Cost: 6
Race: Cyber Virus
Civilization: Water
Type: Evolution
Rules Text:
Evolution-Put on one of your Cyber Viruses.
When you put this creature into the battle zone, draw up to 3 cards.
Power: 5000

This card is well, underrated.  The main problem with it would be because of the fact it is an evo.  Otherwise, it would see much play, IMO.  Some evo-bait would include:Grape Globbo, Steam Star, Marine Flower, and Candy Drop.  NOTE: These are just a few.  Give this card a try, just remember that you would be better off with around 2 times more evo-bait than the number of evos that you are playing.

Name: Brain Serum
Cost: 4
Civilization: Water
Type: Spell
Rules Text:
Shield Trigger Shield trigger (When this spell is put into your hand from your shield zone, you may cast it immediately for no cost.)
Draw up to 2 cards.

Next is a spell.  This card is good if you run a deck that uses many shield triggers and cards that help you get more cards into your shields.  Otherwise, again, I would run Energy Stream.  I used to always use Brain Serum, but I discovered how helpful Energy Stream was in the deck I was running.

Name: Cetibols
Cost: 3
Race: Sea Hacker
Civilization: Water
Type: Creature
Rules Text:
When this creature is destroyed, you may draw a card.
Power: 2000

This card is interesting.  If you remember the second card in this article, you would most likely see the resemblance.  So far, I would still favor Aqua Hulcus over this card.  Mainly because Aqua Hulcus gets its effect when it comes into play, while Cetibols gets its effect when it is destroyed.  This basically means that your opponent may find other means of destroying Cetibols, like sending it to your mana or returning it to the top of your deck.  So for now, Aqua Hulcus stands on top of Cetibols.

Name: Chaos Fish
Cost: 7
Race: Gel Fish
Civilization: Water
Type: Creature
Rules Text:
This creature gets +1000 power for each other water creature you have in the battle zone.
Whenever this creature attacks, you may draw a card for each of your other water creatures in the battle zone.
Power: 1000+

Well, this fatty just didn't eat enough meat.  Chaos Fish gets its inspiration to gain power from his other Water friends.  He also gets inspiration to help you draw cards if you have his friends with him.  IMO, Chaos Fish and Aqua Grappler are nearly tied, with Chaos Fish taking the win.  Here's an idea for a deck to make.  Try using Chaos Fish with small Water creatures, Mist Rias, Sonic Guardian, and Darkness' revival cards.  Good luck.

Well that is it for this article.  The next one will be on the next five or six cards from water with the ability to allow you to draw.
