Welcome back everyone and I
hope you all are ready for some more multi-civ
action with today's review! Today we're taking a
look at another variation of evolution for Tatsurion
in the form of Tatsurion the Relentless; let's get
started!
Name:
Tatsurion the Relentless
Civilization: Fire/Nature
Type:
Evolution Creature
Race: Armored Dragon/Beast Kin
Level: 9
Power: 13000
Flavor Text:
"Never tell me 'can't.'"
Rarity:
Super Rare
Set Number:
S10/S10 l 7CLA
Abilities:
(This card enters your mana zone tapped.)
Evolution-Put on one of your creatures that has
"Tatsurion" in its name.
Triple Breaker (This creature breaks 3 shields.)
Weapons
Blazing -Whenever this creature wins a battle
against a creature that has power 5000 or less,
untap this creature and choose one of your
opponent's shields. This creature breaks that
shield.
Alright, so we have another
evolution form of Tatsurion, however, this one is a
little bit different than all other evolutions that
we've had in the past and requires a specific card
to evolve from! Now luckily, we have plenty of
Tatsurions out there in the Kaiju Realm (currently
ten others) and yet another one yet to be revealed
in this very set. I don't know how effective these
types of evolutions are going to be and to what
degree Wizards is going to choose who gets "specific
evolutions". I would assume that we would be looking
at cards that have multiple prints with different
effects, such as Scaradorable and Reef Prince
Glu-urrgle.
Outside of that, this card has
very similar stats to Evo Fury Tatsurion with some
slight deviations. This is a Level 9 Triple Breaker
with 13000 power. So he has a little more juice than
his Evo Fury form but still lacks from his
Flamespike version. Both of those versions are six
and seven cost creatures and require less specific
materials to cast him.
Okay, so why should you even
run this card then? Well, his last effect is what
sells him, although it can be very situational.
Whenever Tatsurion wins a battle with a creature
that has 5000 power or less you break a shield and
untap him. What alot of people miss when they hear
this effect is that this guy can do this over and
over again as long has he has targets to banish with
the appropriate stats! So, needless to say this card
and Stormspark Blast or Overcharge may win you the
game the turn you play it (assuming your opponent
doesn't hit any big shield blasts)! You can even
combo this card with the new dual civilization card
"Fight!". Personally I think Tatsurion the
Relentless and Overcharge is the best combo
currently though.
Okay, so if you have the
resources to play this card and you run a ton of
Tatsurions in your deck then this guy might be one
of the best cards in the set! The major downside
though, is that it requires you to run other
Tatsurions and can take away from other things you
may want to do with your deck. Give it a try, we
might just see our first OTKO with just one card
attacking!
Ratings:
Constructed:
2.50/5.00 (It's a great card but could be so
much better if you just had to evolve from a Beast
Kin or Armored Dragon. )
Limited:
1.00/5.00 (This card is probably one of the
worst choices (currently) for limited play. There's
only one other Tatsurion in the set and we're not
sure what rarity it is as of yet and it costs 9 mana
to even play it! The only thing that would make that
version playable is if it added a Tatsurion
Evolution Creature from your deck to your hand when
you played it.)
Have a great day everyone! Make
sure to stop by my channel for some coverage
regarding the Pennsylvania KMC! Hopefully it will be
up on Friday for you guys and girls! Until next time
my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and game
on!
