Welcome to Tuesday’s Card of the Day at Pojo.com!
I’ve been in the process of watching Kaijudo and I’m
starting to get a feel for some of the characters in
the series. Today we have a card that best expresses
Gargle and his ability to build a useful tool out of
random objects in order to deal with a given
situation. Let’s see what Gargle’s got cooking in
today’s card: Forklift Tank Glu-urrgle.
Name:
Forklift Tank Glu-urrgle
Civilization: Water
Type:
Creature
Race: Cyber Lord
Level: 6
Power: 4000
Flavor Text:
“Big problem, big solution!” -Gargle
Rarity:
Very Rare
Set Number:
16/55 l
4EVO
Abilities:
Pedal to the
Metal- Whenever this creature attacks, you may
have your opponent put the top card of his or her
deck into his or her discard pile. If that card is a
creature, return target enemy creature to your
opponent’s hand. If that card isn’t a creature, draw
a card.
When this card was first spoiled to the Kaijudo
players of the world, it was extremely hyped. For
some reason, it was a little too hyped and hasn’t
really seen much play in my local community or
online in general. It’s a Level 6 Cyber Lord with
4000 power with no immediate effect upon entering
the battle zone and that might be why. We’ve been
too spoiled with all of these ETB effects which take
away from cards that have to sit there for a turn.
Forklift is one of the first couple cards that can
theoretically
mill your opponent to the point of decking out;
however, it is extremely unlikely for this to occur
with the lack of support for that type of deck for
now. When he attacks you get to activate an effect
depending on what card you send to the discard pile.
If you get a creature, you can bounce back one of
their creatures back to the owner’s hand; if it’s
anything else, you can draw a card.
I suppose you could combo this with cards that allow
you to look at the top of your opponent’s deck but
that might seem a little impractical. Normally your
opponent will have at least one creature in the
battle zone anyway, so regardless of what you mill,
you should get some effect to help you out one way
or another. One neat trick that not everyone will
realize at first is that his effect will activate
before
your opponent gets a chance to block. That means
that you could potentially bounce their blocker back
to their hand before they can do anything about it!
You could also combo this card with Finbarr, Council
of Logos to make Forklift a 6000 power creature only
susceptible to Terror Pit/Root Trap or some big,
bad, evolution creature.
At the very least this card can be a slightly larger
version of Aqua Seneschal. It has twice as much
power and twice the cost to cast. I suppose the best
place for this card is in either a Cyber Lord deck
or some control variant, outside of that I don’t
really see this card seeing a ton of play and there
are a lot of answers to deal with this invention
(i.e. Neuron, Medusa, Tornado Flame, etc.).
Ratings:
Constructed: 2.25/5.00
(I’m planning on making a Cyber Lord deck to
playtest with and this guy could put in some work
with the assistance of Finbarr; otherwise, this card
is just too slow for now. Maybe if they gave this
card +2000 more power he could be more splashable.)
Limited: 1.75/5.00
(Sealed in Evo Fury means evolution creatures and
that means that even if Forklift attacks and bounces
their Bronze Arm Sabertooth to their hand, it’ll
just come out the following turn to exact vengeance
on Gargle.)
Check back tomorrow when we review Stephenie Meyer!
Give it a few seconds and I’m sure you’ll get the
reference! Until next time fellow Kaijudo Duel
Masters, keep calm and game
on!
