Epic Dragons of Hyperchaos

Card # DM42

Limited Average Rating:

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst. 3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating.

Prince
Yaken
Slaphappy Soldier Galback
Cost: 4
Civilization: Fire
Race: Dragonoid
Card Type: Creature
• Turbo rush (If any of your other creatures broke any shields this turn,
this creature gets its ability until the end of the turn.) Whenever this creature attacks, you may destroy one of your opponent's creatures that has power 4000 or less.
Power: 3000

Civilization: Dragonoids received extra support from the newest set but They will always be 2nd to Armored Wyverns and their Dragon cousins. Fire is known for destruction spells and effects, Glaback having one of the most effective upon activation.

Cost: 4 mana cost is pretty standard for his effect and power. For a mana less most people (me included) will still favor Pyrofighter Magnus or Rikabu, the Dismantler since they have speed attacker over Galback.

Power: His power is nothing impressive except in Limited Format due to the massive number of kill spells and usable blockers that can over power him.
In Limited Format he shines since there is only 1 blocker in the same set that can overpower him.

Abilities: The first creature with Turbo Rush that we have rated let us not forget that his effect only happens when another one of your creature breaks a shield during the same turn. This was an issue at a lot of release tournaments but thankfully now it is cleared up. Even if he is blocked once his effect goes off, he has a “Spastic Missile” effect. He can cause a chain of destruction with an “unblockable” creature hitting a shield before him.

Card Efficiency: Unless you get his effect off he is practically a “vanilla”
(meaning 0 for 1 or 1 for 1). If his Turbo Rush activates expect good things from this Dragonoid.

Constructed: Pyrofighter Magnus will still see consistant play over this creature despite this cards potential. 2/5

Limited: This is where he will run best due to the low amount of blockers and the many chances to activate his Turbo Rush effect. 3/5

Horus Master lv8
Well, I don't think I beat Cecill on this "article" count thing.  But I tried and that counts, I guess.  Anyways, today's card was the promo for anyone that entered three or more sanctioned tourneys.  And I have to say that it looks pretty.

Name: Slaphappy Soldier Galback
Cost: 4
Race: Dragonoid
Civilization: Fire
Type: Creature
Rules Text:
Turbo rush (If any of your other creatures broke any shields this turn, this creature gets its Turbo Rush ability until the end of the turn.)
Turbo Rush Whenever this creature attacks, you may destroy one of your opponent's creatures that has power 4000 or less.
Power: 3000
Mana Number: 1
Artist: Masaki Hirooka
Rarity: R
Collector Number: 42
Set: Epic Dragons of Hyperchaos

Race/Civilization:Dragonoids were left behind because the dragons felt that they didn't need them since EDotHC offered enough support. If you can't tell, I just made that up.  Fire is not my personal favorite civilization.  Though, it does have some game-changing cards

Power/Cost Ratio: 4/3000 isn't bad.  Considering that there are other cards that are far worse.  3000 power can stand up to most commonly play creatures, but not when it comes to spells.  3000 power is very good though.

Effect: Ahh, Turbo Rush, the new effect.  I do think that it is worth play-testing this card to see if its effect is worth having it in your deck.  Having the ability to destroy any opposing creature with 4000 or less power is nothing to laugh at.  However, Slaphappy must be able to survive the break of the first shield in order for its effect to trigger.

Constructed: 3.5/5  Try it out and let me know how it worked for you
Limited: 4/5 Better here because of the lack of blockers and shield triggers.  Definitely worth playing.
Overall: 3.75/5  Pretty good.  Give me a holler if you have tested this out and let me know how it worked.

I would like to say good luck to anyone attending any contest/event this weekend.  Hopefully I will meet many Pojo'ers at L.A.  Be prepared for a detailed tourney report.

Until next time,

Horus
