Welcome back to the Card of the
Day review here on Pojo.com! I hope you all enjoyed
your weekend and are just as anxious as I am to get
the KMC’s started! This week we’re taking a look at
some overall highly competitive cards that will be
used in your local tournaments as well as the
upcoming KMC’s. Today’s card is cute and squeaky and
is notorious for being the most expensive rare in
the game as well as one of the hardest to find, I’m
talking about Scaradorable of Gloom Hollow.
Name: Scaradorable of Gloom Hollow
Civilization: Darkness
Type:
Creature
Race: Chimera
Level: 3
Power: 2000
Flavor Text:
“Who’s the good Squeaky-critter? You are, that’s
right. You’re the good Squeaky-critter!” -Allie
Rarity:
Rare
Set Number:
88/165 l
3RIS
Abilities:
Blocker
(You may tap this creature to change an enemy
creature’s attack to this creature.)
Adorable Gaze – While this creature is battling
a creature that is level 4 or less, neither creature
can be banished.
This has to be one of my
favorite cards as well as one of my favorite
artworks. This card seems pretty basic if you just
glance at it but when you look closer you’ll see
that it may be the best blocker in this game so
fair!
Scaradorable is a level 3
chimera creature with 2000 power and the Blocker
ability. Notice that he only has “Blocker” and not
“Guard” alongside it. Yes, that means that Squeaky
can attack and block when you need her to, although
realistically whenever she attacks it will likely be
at your opponent’s shields.
Secondly, she’s a Chimera.
Being able to turn into a well-timed Hydra Medusa or
even Tekamora the Wretched is nothing to shrug off.
You can block early game and turn this card into an
aggressive and destructive fast attacker.
Lastly, Scaradorable’s last
ability “Adorable Gaze” is what gives it that extra
playability. This card will not die to anything that
is level 4 or lower! That means that no matter what
power that creature has, it just becomes nullified.
This is the perfect card to use against rush decks
using Gilaflame the Assaulter, the ever popular
Bronze-Arm Sabertooh, or other fast attackers.
Obviously this card can die to
Comet Missile and just about every other form of
removal out there, but it’s very unlikely that it
will be due to a battle with another creature
(unless of course your opponent has a huge creature
in the battle zone).
If you run the darkness
civilization you really need to get yourself a
playset of these bad girls (yes… Squeaky is a girl).
Best of luck though, KMC season is about to start
and that likely means that prices are going to shoot
up on this already expensive card; expect to pay
$15-$25 now and possibly even $20-$30 in a couple of
weeks. It is definitely worth getting though!
Ratings:
Constructed: 4.50/5.00 (Very easy to deal with if you have removal
spells, incredibly hard to deal with early game, and
late game, leaving this in the battle zone may allow
it to evolve into something monstrous!)
Limited: 4.50/5.00 (In Rise format you’re even less likely to pull
some of those removal spells with such a huge set
size. True you don’t need to worry about evolutions
but this card will likely be blocking for a good
portion of the game until you can find the removal
or get a level 5+ creature in the battle zone.)
Make sure to stop by tomorrow
when we take a closer look at another card that tons
of people are playing currently, often in the same
deck as Scaradorable. Until next time my fellow
Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and game on!
