Welcome back to our Card of the
Day Review! Happy April Fool's Day for you
pranksters out there, let's try to keep the jokes
under control just a little bit today, okay?
Alrighty, onto today's card: Reflector Cannon.
Name:
Reflector Cannon
Civilization: Light
Type:
Creature
Race: Fractal
Level: 4
Power: 2000
Flavor Text:
"Highly reflective. Blast with caution." -Blastforge
captain
Rarity:
Rare

8/55 l 6DSI
Abilities:
Mirror Armor- When this creature is banished,
tap all enemy creatures.
Reflector Cannon is an
interesting card to say the least. It has some basic
stats with 2000 power at Level 4. It's not a
creature that has any real support being a
"Fractal," but it still has its uses with its Mirror
Armor ability.
It's ability basically turns it
into a Stormspark Blast attached to a creature.
Realistically speaking, I don't see your opponent
trying to take this card down unless they're at a
low shield count or if they only have one creature
in the battle zone to attack with. This card may
cause your opponent to reconsider using that
Barrage, Bone Blades, or other similar cards. You
can use the cannon to ram into a larger creature to
make your other creatures be able to take down
what's left of your opponents creatures at a cost of
two less mana than Stormspark itself.
I think this card would benefit
a lot more from being a blocker, however, that
probably would have made it a little too
overpowered. You can combo this card in a deck using
skirmishers or with cards that gain abilities by
attacking your opponents creatures like Herald of
Infernus.
Overall this card has some hidden potential
that will probably just be swept under the rug for
now as everyone is too focused on all of these
Dragons that are everywhere right now. Give it some
time and I think you may see this card in a few
combo decks; it's doubtful you'll see this card at
the upcoming KMC's but who knows... originality can
get you pretty far in life sometimes!
Ratings:
Constructed:
2.25/5.00 (As of now, I don't see this card
getting much play. It has potential but costs 4 mana
just to play it when you may want a tap effect a lot
sooner than waiting an additional turn. It can also
be easily avoided with Rusalka or Nature removal
spells.
Limited:
2.50/5.00 (This card can buy you some time but
requires a little too much set up to get going. By
the time you actually get this out and want it's
effect to go off, your opponent likely has a huge
dragon in the battle zone and tapping it isn't going
to do you any good.)
Check back again tomorrow when
we review another creature that grants you a nifty
ability when it's banished! Until next time my
fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and game on!
