Article for Thrash Crawler

Hello all Ricardo back with another CotD Review, todays card is the mighty Thrash Crawler, check out what it does.

Name: Thrash Crawler
Cost: 4
Race: Earth Eater
Civilization: Water
Type: Creature
Rules Text:
Blocker Blocker
When you put this creature into the battle zone, return a card from your mana zone to your hand.
This creature can't attack.
Flavor Text:
Erosion . . . with a vengeance.
Power: 5000
Mana Number: 1
Artist: Yoko Tsukamoto
Rarity: U
Collector Number: 49
Set: Stomp-a-Trons of Invincible Wrath
This is a very powerful and popular card, it has inspired people to build decks around it and it has a home in most control decks, this card is awesome.

Civilisation:
This card is from the Water Civilisation and it is a very manipulative card, so it fits the theme of the Water.

Cost/Power:
This card costs 4 for 5000 power, a very good Cost to Power ratio, but this creature can't attack so that is a downfall.

Effects:
This card has 3 effects:
1: Blocker Blocker
I am very sure we all know what this does by now.

2: When you put this creature into the battle zone, return a card from your mana zone to your hand.
This effect is what makes thrash crawler so powerful, the ability to fetch a card from your mana zone is amazing and this card got even more powerful with the release of the Charger cards in set 8, reusing a spell is a powerful effect, and this card can hold it's own it battle.

3: This creature can't attack.
This is Thrash Crawlers Drawback, however you don't need to attack to use the full potential of this card.

Limited:
A blocker that can get you back a situational card you may need, take it, blockers are needed in this format.
4/5

Constructed:
A powerful control card in this format, infact it is rarely not seen in a control deck nowadays. This card has great synergy with chargers and has one of the best effects in the game.
5/5 Perfect Score.

Black Chaos Dragon Happy New Year from BCD. I can't believe I miss the Searing Wave review, my favorite Fire Spell, oh well, back to today's card. One of the best and most abused blocker in the Water Civ.

Set: Stomp-a-Trons of Invincible Wrath

Cost: 4 mana for a 5000 blocker plus returning a card back to your hand from the mana zone, no brainer and enough said.
4.5/5(sometimes I wish the effect was optional)

Effect: Like I said, it returns a mana card to your hand. Draw a high mana costing card in your opening hand, ditch it into mana and fish it out w/ the Crawler. It doesn't get any easier than that.
Granted, you do lost a little mana advantage early in the game, but that just means you have to use it wisely.
4.5/5

Constructed: 5/5, a big bad blocker that can return that HA or TP from the mana zone.

Limited: 3.5/5, not as good. Great Blocker, but lower mana. Use w/ caution.

Until next time.

Civilization: Water is stepping out of it's bounds reaching into it's mana zone to do stuff.

Effect: This effect I see as both a pro and a con. If used in the early game it can hurt you more than help, but used late game it can help beyond that of almost any other card. Think of it as a mini tutor that gets the stuff back that you couldn't play the early turns, very helpful. Especially when you then have enough mana to then play the card after words.
And then it also has the standard blocker effect.

Cost: Since the effect is both a pro and a con in a way I can see the card designer having it cost zero. Then your paying for a blocker that has 1000 more power than it's cost but cant attack which is the trend.

Constructed: 4.5/5 VERY nice here, since you will be able to use cards that make full use of his ability.
Limited: 4/5 He is still a blocker, and you will usually have higher costing cards you want to get back
