Yugi and Kaiba arrive at the docks to find a mind controlled Joey.Yugi tries

to help him break free, but Marik/Joey says the only way to free him is to follow him. A brainwashed Tea also speaks to Yugi, telling him to follow.
Through Tea, Marik explains the rules of his special dueling field. Both duelists are tied to a large anchor, to which is attached a bomb with a timer on it. The bomb will explode when the timer hits zero, either after the dueling time has expired or thirty seconds after a player's lifepoints reach zero. Yugi is told to keep Slifer out of his deck, but he instead chooses a far more personal card: the Red Eyes Black Dragon. He hopes that he can use it to break Joey out of Marik's control. At the feet of each duelist is a box with a key inside, which will open when their opponent's lifepoints hit zero. Tea is also locked into a chair beneath a crane with a crate hanging from it. Should anyone interfere, the crate will be released.
Joey launches into battle with a deck enhanced with rare magic cards, and leaves Yugi reeling from several direct hits on his lifepoints.
