                                Crimson Bands
								of Cyttorak

Well, Marvel Defender just got a better Mystical
Paralysis. Not only can you exhaust a character
other than Dr. Doom, but if you exhaust a 4 drop
or lower, they aren't readying for the turn, so
they'll be useless going into the next turn. You
can only use it when you have the initiative,
which isn't too restrictive, and the effect is
worth it anyway. You can only exhaust visible
characters, but that's not a big worry anyway.
If Golden Age were going to happen again any
time soon, this would be awesome with Crushing
Blow and/or Sucker Punch, but it's still a good
play, especially since Marvel Defenders have
some good 7 and 8 drops worth stalling towards.

                                Crimson Bands
								of Cyttorak

Play only if you have the initiative

To play, exhaust a marvel Defenders character

Exhaust target visible character with cost 4 or
less. It can’t ready this turn

Today we are looking at some support for the
Marvel defenders in the shape of the Crimson
Bands of Cyttorak. Dr. Strange has all kinds of
mystic toys at his disposal, and todays card
shows some of the power of the Sorcerer supreme.
First off, the fact that it can only be used on
your initiative hurts this card a little. If it
was off initiative it would be like a more
broken Mystical paralysis, and more of that is
								what the game doesn’t need.

Still, the ability to trade one of your small
back-up Defenders for your opponents 4 drop is
always a good deal. Imagine if you will Howard
the Duck tiring out Dr. Doom, Diabolic genius.
It sure makes me smile. If the defenders team up
with a team that has free characters, like for
example haywire on squadron supreme or the
golden oldie in spider friends it becomes even
								easier to pay the cost.

Constructed- 3.5 out of 5 Crimson Bands of
Cyttorak has potential, but stalling is second
to smashing face for the Marvel defenders

Limited- 3.0 out of 5 The score goes up to 4 if
you pull Aunt may and a team up, or any other
								free character |
