Beastly Mage
Hidan
Today's card is a Starter Exclusive Hidan. Right off
the bat: he's Lightning and Void. This fits well
into the new Akatsuki Void theme (you can actually
have all of the members in play thanks to this). He
has Ambush, which can be good. Also, he's a T4 with
a Hand Cost of 1. For a 6/0 - 6/0 it's pretty good.
Now, his effect helps some of the new Akatsuki
strategies, specifically those that deal with -1/-1
Coins. When a Ninja receives Damage from Hidan's
team, that Ninja will get one of those coins. It
doesn't specify if it's just one, so I'm guessing
you can put one coin on the whole team. In the right
deck this guy can help a lot (and if you've been
watching the official previews, you know how he can
help). Try it and see!

hello pojo-loyalists, today we have for you the
newest card from our favorite religuos fanatic,
hidan from set 21 starters.
New hidan gets a minor stat boost from what we're
used to at a 6/0 6/0 (about expected for a combat
ninja on 4) with weapon (one day weapon will get
something awesome, then all the weapon ninja will
revolt!) with ambush and.....a handcost? his ability
is pretty solid, whenever a ninja gets a damage
(loses/ties a fight or jutsu) they get a -1/-1 coin
on them.
void- the ability is a tad underwhelming, in the 21
format deidara and human path both have effects that
are better for the element without the hand cost.
lightning-as of right now i can think of no archtype
that could benefit from even one copy of hidan,
almost a waste to pri nt him with that symbol.
fire-fire has been given the -1/-1 coin theme in
this set, and hidan could make a useful addition if
your not interested in the chibi on-color version.
water/wind-please kids, don't try this at home.
overall, im of the opinion that hidan is the least
useable in big game out of the entire akatsuki set
21 starter exclusives, but that doesnt make him
useless....

is his downfall) fire: 2/5 (if there was no chibi
hidan, the starter would have some value)
