Greetings, Naruto Fans! Today's card is Monzaemon
Chikamatsu. As you may know, these are Granny
Chiyo's Puppet Ninjas (some of them). These guys are
simply sick! For starters, even though they have no
Combat, they do have 10 Support (5 when injured)
plus 10 Mental Power (a bit odd since they are
Puppets). This makes them a great Back Ninja. They
can't attack on their own (nothing in the effect
text says they can't block). They can only attack
when they're with a [Secret Skills] Ninja. They also
have a Valid effect. The Head Ninja that battles
these Puppets gets discarded at the end of the turn.
So, even if they don't survive the hit, that Ninja
will be gone in a little while. They are a great
addition to the Puppet Deck (which I can see getting
better with this set). They could also be useful in
Limited if you manage to draft a Secret Skills Ninja
(plus they have no Hand Cost, so that can be a plus
too).

10? that's crazy... with hardly any drawback?
It also carries a strong effect that is valid?
This card has everybody talking about how puppet's
second wind will arise this upcoming set. I
admit that I can see it happen with this card... and
other support the set will carry.
The thing to know that it cannot be sent out to
attack unless a ninja with "secret skills" is
involved. The problem is that...it can block
without one.
It can be splashed into any deck and with 10
support...it's likely to happen.
If that wasn't bad enough... "Head ninjas that
battle this Ninja are discarded at the end of the
turn"... oh my.
Not that it really matters, since nobody uses mental
nowadays, this card carries 10 mental power.
It doesn't make sense that puppets have any
intelligence...
and can be used without a puppeteer.
Regardless, it's a great 5 drop and with Kankuro
[Tactician] still at 3... don't be surprised if
puppets become top tier again.
