Beastly Mage
Gaara of the Desert (Suit)
Today's card is Gaara as a transfer student. The
name points out something interesting: he's Sand,
but also Leaf. That effect is Valid, same for the
other one. When you Growth a Ninja you draw a card.
This would fit into the Suit/Student theme. He's got
Growth as well, but I'm not sure if the effect
applies to him too.
He has the same stats as a Genin-Level Gaara, plus
the "Leaf Academy" characteristic. He's also got the
"Gaara of the Desert" name, so he has some backup
there too. In Limited he could be useful, but in a
dedicated deck he could be even better.

Today's card is one you've probably seen on The
Perfect Curve... For some reason, Bandai gave us the
same preview cardss. Anyway, this card is a nice
draw engine for Leaf Academy decks. Him having
"Leaf" is useful for the decktype I suppose and it
makes him have a creative effect since he is a
transfer student. A pretty niche card all around
that will really help out LA decks. His only
downside are his lackluster stats.

This guy works well with the theme shown so far, in
that Growthing your ninjas doesn't lose you any hand
advantage. In combination with Hinata Hyuga
(Student), you could keep growthing ninjas and
drawing (similar to Enma + Contract). This guy has a
home in the Leaf Academy, where a specific Turn 2
ninja was never truly decided (sans the staples).
