Awkward Thinking

Today's card is yet another Super Rare. This time we have a Mission. Awkward Thinking lets you place a Growth Coin on one of your Ninjas. Then, you can remove any number of Growth Coins on your Ninjas to draw that same number of cards. This is good for a deck with that sort of strategy (placing Growth Coins). Just to make it clear: this works for Growth Coins, not -1/-1 Coins or any other Coin you place on a Ninja. It doesn't remove Insect Coins either.

Pretty good in any format, though better in Block. Try it and see!

M-781 Awkward Thinking

I don't know why, but my friends and I like to call this card "Dreams of Ice Cream." I guess it's more fun to say than Awkward Thinking. Anyway, today's preview is one of the few pieces of draw power that lightning gets post rotation. It allows you to place a growth coin on a ninja and then remove any number of growth coins to draw the same amount of cards. It's obvious use is on Danzou (until he potentially gets the erratum to say his growth coins are +1+1 coins), but it also works great with Hokage Rocks. Of course, if you are running this mission you will want 3 copies of all your ninja, and the more with growth the better. I'm not honestly sure why this card had a turn 4 entrance cost, since it seems like it could work well enough on turn 2 (at which you could potentially have 2 growth coins). Either way, between this and Disaster, you have Lightning's draw power post rotation.

Limited: 1/5 Probably going to be hard to get off in limited.
Unlimited: 1/5 Lightning has Group Lesson and Messenger Ninja...you probably wouldn't bother with this.
Block: 3.5/5 Not many other options to draw cards in Lightning.
