Beastly Mage

Rashomon

This card is one that has seen a lot of play in Water Decks. Rashomon can halve your opponent's damage. An Outstanding Victory can become a Victory, and an Outstanding Battle Reward can become a Battle Reward. This can be done during any turn this Ninja is healthy, once per turn. This effect doesn't see that much play, though. The real reason Rashomon is used is a defensive wall (which is odd, since the Rashomon are gates). Being a turn 2 Ninja with 7/0 - 7/0 is pretty nice... as long as your remember that these Ninjas can't be in teams AND can't attack. Good for stalling, and buying you some time. Try it and see!

N-874 Rashomon [Wall]
==================

Today's card is one of the more interesting ninjas in the game, since it is more of a jutsu/inanimate object than a ninja. For a turn two ninja, Rashomon has 7/0 healthy and injured stats which make him extremely powerful, but his effect prevents him from attacking and being put on a team, so it balances out. Its other effect allows you to lower the blow of your opponent's Outstanding Victory or Outstanding Battle Reward to regular Victory/Battle Reward, but at the price of two water chakra. This can help sometimes, but in playtesting, it was never really that useful. Rashomon is pretty much another Sea Monster (A non-attacking wall), but a little bit slower with a cute effect. I would suggest Sea Monster over this card since it is T0 and can possibly attack as well as be on a team.

Pros:
-Massive healthy and injured combat for T2
-Somewhat good effect
- Ambush

Cons:
-First effect is not valid, considering its high injured stats.
-First effect is somewhat expensive
- Cannot attack or be on a team

Limited: 3/5 Nice wall for this format.
Unlimited: 2/5
Block: 2.25/5
