Beastly Mage

Kakashi Hatake (Anbu Days)

Today's card is a real piece of work. A Super Rare ANBU-version Kakashi. Stats are good for that kind of Kakashi. It's even got Growth, which makes him better. He's got a few effects. And one effect is just great in combination with Tracking.

The Valid effect makes all your Ninja Dogs get +1/+1. That's pretty good. Then comes the non-Valid effect: while you have four or more NInja Dogs, your opponent's Tracked Ninja can't be sent out to block. In a dedicated Dog Deck, this guy is gonna do some serious damage.

Ratings:

Limited: 3/5 (solid stats at turn 4)

7/16/10 N-906 Kakashi Hatake (Anbu Days)
[Expert Tracker]
===================================

This is the final card of our puppy week, and today we shall end it with a Super.

For starters, THIS CARD IS PRETTY INSANE. A pump to all your puppies is pretty awesome and his tracking effect is awesome as well, albeit hard to pull off, but not for a rush deck. He takes up the slot for Kakashi [Anbu Days], but you can run three of both in the same deck, plus he has growth so you can grow over the other one. He also will rack up the battle rewards with his effect if you play Scouting Party, since your opponent will lose a blocker.

This card is the icing on the cake for Puppy decks, and once this set is legal, I can see puppy rush being top tier.

He's not overwhelming, but not terrible either. A very balanced super that I plan on running.

Here is our final preview for this week in the Ninja Dog Rush theme!

Of course, we had to bring you Kakashi. You knew it was coming.

Kakashi with Tracking. I love this mechanic. This is our usual stat Anbu Kakashi. He does have the (Anbu Days) tag, so he fits in well with other Kakashi cards in the deck. One of the cool things here is not only his synergy with the puppies, but the fact that he has growth. You can run Childhood and this pretty effectively. So his effect grants all Ninja Dogs +1+1, and it's valid. Nice. Can't argue with easy boosts. The second part though is the kicker. While you have 4 or more ninja dogs, their tracked ninja can't block. So this is the card that ties the rush theme together. Drop Kakashi on turn 4 and change your tracked ninja to one in their biggest team. Swing for massive damage. Unfortunately, that second effect isn't valid, so keep him healthy. This card is a super rare, and I'm not too positive it was deserving of that status. Rare would have fit better. But you know what? The art on this Kakashi is 200% awesome, so pulling one just for looks isn't too bad. In limited, if you can draft him and the other dogs, it'd be a deck to be reckoned with. Good luck getting all the parts in a draft though.

Limited: 4/5 Everyone loves a Jonin on turn 4.
Unlimited: 3/5 Not bad, not great.
Block: 3/5 There are so many playable Kakashi out there already, I would find it hard to fit this one anywhere but the theme deck.
