Beastly Mage

Expansion Jutsu: Super Slap!

Today's jutsu card, even though it's an Akimichi technique, can be used by anyone. For either one Earth and one Colorless (or three Colorless) you can take one Ninja whose Combat value is equal or lesser than the User's and make it go Stand-By. This is good when attacking, since it takes care of Chump Blockers. The second effect is situational, giving protection against your opponent's Jutsus (until the end of the Turn) to the User if said User has an Earth Symbol. It's a pretty good Jutsu in any format. It gives you the chance to clear the way for a Battle Reward or just to get rid of a pesky Ninja. Try it and see!

Expansion Jutsu: Super Slap!

When I look at this card, two cards come into mind that I tend to compare this card to, Howl and Concentration.
This card has the stand-by power of Howl and the potential self-protection held by Concentration.
On the other hand, this card has more strict usability than Howl and a smaller shroud than Concentration.
Overall, even though it isn't exactly Howl or Concentration, it should be a piece of any Earth deck.

Constructed: 2/5 Earth isn't the most playable in Unlimited.
Limited: 3/5 A potentially battle-turning effect with a generic cost is quite solid in my book.
Block: 4/5 This card should be at least 1 of in any Earth Deck next to Howl.
