Tenzo
Today we see Tenzo, Yamato's other name. This
Starter Deck Exclusive has, along with the ANBU
Characteristic, the name Yamato. This Ninja is good
for Earth since his effect allows him to make an
opposing team skip the showdown. By paying to Earth
Chakras, Tenzo's team and the opposing team skip the
showdown. The effect is good, though something is
missing. Notice that he can't use the First Hokage's
Jutsus?
That last part makes him lose points in Unlimited
format. Still, he's good. Having ANBU, he can be
brought back by the latest ANBU Days version of
Kakashi. Try it and see!
Today's card is the first version of Yamato using
his other alias, Tenzo. Tenzo was his original alias
while with Anbu before he joined Team 7 as Kakashi's
replacement. History lesson aside, let's go to the
review.
Tenzo is a turn earlier than his other incarnations
with no hand cost, and only has a small drop in
stats. He has the usual Yamato characteristics, most
importantly, Tree CA which gives him access to
Earth's deadliest jutsus. He has Anbu, which makes
him a target for Dispatch/Raid of Anbu which is
great for those decks, but his effect only really
helps earth. By discarding two Earth Chakra, the
Showdown is skipped for all teams. This can prevent
your opponent from winning any BRs and your teams
from being defeated or completely defeated. A nice
effect, but he has one bad downside; you can't play
Yamato [CBF] while he's out. You can still run both
of course, but there will be a possibility that you
might raw [CBF] or this guy while the other is out
and screw yourself.
