5 is the highest rating.

Beastly Mage

Itachi Uchiha

This version of Itachi is seeing a lot of play, and for good reason. By discarding one FIre Chakra during your Mission Phase you can make an opponent's Ninja stay right there in the village. On top of that he's got some mad stats. 6/4 - 3/3 is no laughing matter for some. Downside?: No Ambush. In the right deck (Mono Fire) this guy can really help. Try it and see!

N. Jolly
N-643 Itachi Uchiha [Genius in Genjutsu]

Well, N. Jolly is here with one of his favorite ninjas for his favorite element, so overall, good day to be N. Jolly, as is most days.

Today's card is one that's got a lot of hype for being another of the "sleeper" cards of the set, just like Sense of Fear. This one is a new version of one of the most popular ninja in the game, Itachi Uchiha. But let's check out his stats, shall we:

T6 HC1
Akatsuki/Rogue Ninja/Jonin/Male/Sharingan Eye
6/4 3/3

It's a T6 Itachi, and his stats don't disappoint. Having Akatsuki helps him out in the popular "Akatsuki" deck as well as probably having even more benefits in the future. Rogue Ninja doesn't really help at all, but it's nice to have as it doesn't really hurt him. Now Jonin rank is pretty much standard in Fire to do anything worth doing (Trigram) with his other characteristic, Sharingan Eye doing the rest (Visual Jutsu, Sharingan Eye, Sense of Fear). Simply being Itachi gives him access to Mangekyo Sharingan, so this ninja is pretty much the best user of any jutsu mono Fire has. But let's look at his effect now:

During your Mission Phase, you can discard 1 of your Chakra with a "Fire" Symbol. In that case, you can select 1 of your opponent's Ninjas. That selected Ninja cannot be sent out to Battle this turn.

Wow, that's pretty impressive, and it adds a new piece of control that Fire didn't have before this (Other than splashing Shikamaru Nara [Unwillingness]. Being able to hold back a team for any reason can win a game right there, so being able to do it once a turn is an incredible effect, especially for just a single Fire Chakra. Combine that with the huge amount of "sniping" jutsu that Fire has, and you can basically destroy your opponent's field without even having to battle them.

So the real issue with this card is "Is it better than Goal?" It's hard question, and it doesn't have a good answer. Without Ambush, Goal still holds more value as well as having great stats for a T5, but Goal's effect can't net free BRs as easily as GiG's. So if I had to give an opinion, I'd go with Goal, but by a very small margin.

Constructed:4.25/5 A great Itachi that's totally going to make an impact
Limited:4/5 Not a lot of Fire here, but if you can get it out, you can probably just fly by your opponent's team
Art:Itachi nonchalantly blast fire out of his mouth, preparing for a night of opera and proust...he's the real continental!/5
StormVyper Zera Itachi Uchiha [Genius in Genjutsu]

Card. Is. BEASTLY! Ok, now that that's out of the way, we can start discussing this amazing card. First up, this guy has a stat boost over other previous versions of Itachi, making him a respectable 6/4 Healthy. Now, it's been discussed to death whether or not you should run this card or Itachi [Goal], and it's really up to the player as to which version to use, but you really have to play with this card to truly appreciate his ability. With his ability, you can freeze an opposing ninja (as well as every ninja in it's team) and they cannot battle for that turn. Anyone who plays or has played against a Tempo deck knows just how dangerous Change In Pairings really is. Now, picture that, but every turn for the rest of the game. Scary stuff.

Master Wang Itachi Uchiha~Genius in Genjutsu

Another day, another card and go check out my vids folks! ^_^

Today is, quite honestly, two cards in one. Genius in Genjutsu Itachi is flat out good. Quite possibly the best T6 Itachi outside of FVJ. Simply discarding one chakra to stop a ninja/team from being sent out is crazy, no matter what turn it comes out. Setting up for quite brutal Jutsu's if your opponent doesn't have a backup team. Stats are solid enough, but I won't hold it against Itachi for not having Ambush. Granted it's not as good, but Ambush is a + sign for cards, not the par.

Used correctly and with the right late-tempo, this card is lethal. With built in Changes in Pairings and for such a minimal cost, GiG will more than likely become on the most feared cards in the game...but is not the best Itachi in my humble opinion.

Limited: 3/5
Constructed: 4/5
