N-215 Gantetsu-Ninja of Darkness

And I'm back, the most beautiful reviewer you have ever seen, preparing to review a whole new set of cards. And the first one that I see in my reviewers glass is Gantetsu, a fav ninja of mine.

Gantetsu's effect is whenever he is sent out to battle and opposed, your opponent has to place one card on the top of their deck, but if he's defeated, your opponent draws two cards. He's a card you'd hate to chump block, but is way too much of a risk to have hit the board. He's also a T2 chunin 3/0 0/0 so he could take your Neji's slot for earth if you're running Jonin Neji, which is nice to have a ninja there. I know that everyone else will hate this card, but I actually like it, and having a T2 who can use head hunter seems pretty good for me.

Rating
Constructed: 2.5/5 Not horrible, but not good.
Limited: 3/5 Better here, just because he's decent.

Man, his first effect is suh-weet. If his team goes opposed, he knocks a card out of your opponent's hand temporarily. I'm not a big fan of the fact that your opponent gets to select the card themselves as they'll just pick something they can't use in the first place. Now, we get to the bad stuff: his second effect means losing not only causes you to go -1 Ninja +1 chump blocker, he feeds your opponent a new card. Not only that, but he's severely understated, and outclassed in power by numerous early game ninja. I remember seeing a few of this guy kicking around my "jank bag", and that's likely where he's gonna stay.

Limited: 2/5
Constructed: 1/5 (Card is poo unless you go the extra mile to make him less poo.)

Hey there guys, hope you guys are enjoying summer lol. Today we have my first handpicked card:

Gantetsu N-215

I chose him because this ninja is completely forgotten and overlooked and has awesome potential in Earth Byakugan hand control decks, I own one myself and run two copies of him. He's a turn 2 chunin with 3/0 and 0/0 in injured. Good rank, nice turn and average stats.

His effect however is the potential. Every time he's sent out to battle and opposed your opponent has to choose a card in his hand and place it on top of his deck, it can be taken in prizes, discarded with mill, so on. He can use head hunter jutsu which is what I typically use with him and it works nicely, if you have a good turn 0-3 support ninjas you can run over with him easily and makes the opponent choose between losing hand/field advantage or prizes. The downside is that if he's defeated (not draw) your opponent draws two cards, however a smart player can keep him alive and if necesary draw with him. When he becomes hard to keep in a team just launch him with Gaara[TN]. You can even use this "bad" effect to your advantage, a mill deck can use him to control and mill the opponent's hand then when he loses or when you decide to kill him deliberately, make your opponent draw more, thusly milling himself.

An overlooked ninja with great potential although useless in the show xD.

Limited: 2/5
Constructed: 3.5/5

Art: There's nothing cooler than 4 popped collars!!/5
