Beastly Mage

Chiyo

This Super Rare version of Granny Chiyo is reminiscent of the first Super Rare version of Sasori. Same effect, earlier turn cost and no hand cost. Putting it simply, it's good for Puppet Decks. She can make you have big teams like the first SR Sasori. Only thing is that she doesn't have a rank, but in the Puppet Master deck rank's irrelevant. Try it and see!

StormVyper Zera Chiyo [Rich Experience]

This card shares some striking resemblances to Sasori [Legendary Puppet Creator]. The [Lifeless Warrior] have changed Puppet decks for the better, with their ability to 'slide' into any team that includes a ninja with a Manipulation combat attribute, causing for some pretty huge teams. This Chiyo takes that a step further. Much like she does in her fight with Sasori, she has the ability to turn 3 or lower ninja into a [Lifeless Warrior]. In Puppet decks, however, this effect becomes rather redundant as they can already make big teams to score easy victories over opposing teams. Not only that, but Puppets benefit a lot more from Chiyo [Retired Master]'s ability to search for other Puppets. I'd suggest running this in a non-Puppet deck alongside Sasori [Legendary Puppet Creator] for some rather ridiculous teams.

Hey there all, how's it hanging? Today we're reviewing

N-539 Chiyo

Today we have Chiyo-baasan in her new Super Rare form from Fateful Reunion. Let's see what she's got: sand, female, puppet master, medical and 1 mental power which is standard for her. Nothings changed there, she also keeps carrying her 3/3 either way stats which is good and she has her usual double manipulation/medicine combat attributes which make her a unique puppet master. She's rankless but packs quite a punch for a granny xD.

Well she's super rare this time, this must mean she's a blast for puppet decks!! PSYYCHE!! Not really lol, she actually is built to give the "puppet tech" to other mono wind decks other than puppets like for example, a mean Kunoichi deck, an Over9k and so on, she's a good 4 drop, but she's overshadowed by Gaara and Kurenai in both of these decks and of course her effect is limited to a ninja with an entrance cost of 3 or less this means you can't drop big overhaul power like a Tsunade or a Shukaku and this effect is also not valid :|. You also have to pay 2 "Wind" Chakra in order to shoot it off once which Sasori[LPC] does the same but without restriction to entrance cost. Ok it's a bit of a letdown, her effect allows her to slip in any ninja with a puppet coin into a team (but only 1 unlike Sasori[LPC]) which she could combo well with the whole strategy he sets into place. This card has potential, but as for now her rare counterpart is much more useful than this one in the puppet deck and that's the only deck she's really has a good sure place in. I repeat again, it has potential, we could see her abusing some sort of crazy low turn ninja that may come out anytime soon or right now even, she can slip in Sakura's, Shikamaru's and so on which is not so bad. As the lower turn ninjas gain more strength due to incrementing power creeps Chiyo will become more and more useful, she does have uses, let's see what the future brings.

A good ninja with an average effect as of now, but she's runable in some decks and could be better if used correctly in a deck meant for her.

Limited: 2.5/5 (she's not bad here due to her solid stats, not sure if her effect will shoot off though)
Constructed: 2/5 (better Chiyo out there)

Art: Grandma got ran over by a Sand Beast!!/5
