Beastly Mage

Choji Akimichi

Today's card is a new version of the Chunin Choji. This one has two effects. The first one allows him to be played from your hand if your opponent has four or more battle rewards at that moment. This wouldn't count as a deployment. *wink**wink* The second one allows you to discard one of your chakras (no color specified) to make him inmune to your opponent's effects. This only happens when you attack, unfortunately. He's got solid stats, plus growth and secret pills as well.

Ratings:

Limited: 3/5
Constructed: 3/5

N. Jolly
N-597 Choji Akimichi Reliable Comrade

He's lovable, he's huggable, and on certain nights, he's a werewolf...ladies and gentlement, N. Jolly!

Well first for the previews that I'll be writing this week, we have the new Shippuden Choji Akimichi, so let's give him a look real quick. He's Leaf-Male-Chunin (which means he can use Head Hunter)-Secret Pills...let's hold up a sec here. Yeah, he has growth as well, which is pretty standar, but having Secret Pills gives him access to all of the sweet Quest for Power Jutsu, which is a pretty nice group. Partial Expansion Jutsu, Super Expansion Jutsu, Butterfly Bomb...pretty nice choices...His stats are 5/0 0/0 which aren't really great, but not horrible. He's basically awesome as long as no one touches him.

Now onto his effect. If your opponent has 4 or more battle rewards during your mission phase, you can put him into play from your hand...and I guess if you burn a chakra while attacking he get's to be OC, but his first effect is the one that matters. He's such a great card to run against Tempo. If you're unlucky, going second you could hit that on T4 and still play a ninja, as it's a put into play effect. That's really help level things out.

Constructed:2.5/5 He's good, and could be his own deck, but there's better Choji
Limited:4/5 A good pull for early power, especially if you don't get a lot of low drops

Oh, and it seems I'll be getting a Deck Garage/Column here soon, so if you have any decks you'd like me to look at, email them to me at n.jolly@ymail.com and I'll be sure to look them over! As always, try to be N.credible in your everyday lives!
Steven Dally Jr. Choji Akimichi [Reliable Comrade]

Ew, Jirobo stats. I've always hated Jirobo stats. I mean, come on, he could've at least Injured to a 2/0 or something. Anyway, this is an ok card. The first effect allows him to fall out of the sky provided your opponent has taken 4 or more Battle Rewards, something that happens just about all the time (unless it's just an complete blowout). Free drops are always cool, but what really makes this Ninja shine is his second effect: he Attacks and turns into an OC for 1 generic chakra. I absolutely hate.. no, despise the "I'm completely invincible to EVERYTHING" effect in this game and how casually it's being thrown around, but oh well. They'll run the game as they see fit to.

Limited: 3/5 (Free drop beatstick with invincibility. Yes please.)
Constructed: 2/5 (Little Chojis are just better, but this card is beast in a Food deck.)

Hey there all, today's card is new from the upcoming set Emerging Alliance:

Choji Akimichi N-597

This version and second print of a chunin Choji is in my opinion much better than the last one in terms of general use as opposed to the other one being slightly more useful in a deck dedicated to himself, although this one works very nicely as well. A turn 3 with chunin, 5/0, secret pills and growth and suffering the "Sasuke Syndrome", it's very nicely powered for a turn 3 ninja plus growth and chunin rank makes him that much more useful on this mid-game turn.

This time he's carrying two non-valid effects, the first one lets you put him in PLAY if your opponent has taken 4 or more battle rewards which is overall not a bad effect at all, a free chunin with 5/0 and a good arsenal of jutsus behind him? I like it. Now his second effect lets you pay 1 generic chakra, this being a great plus, to make him untouchable by your opponent's effects, which this sort of effect will slightly lose effectiveness due to the new reactive jutsus but certainly not a bad one to have either way. The first effect doesn't matter if it's valid or not, the second however does and hurts its playability a little but also requiring for him to be attacking and not just "sent out to battle" hurts it a little more so, overall not a bad card, both chunin Choji's so far are not so bad and rank average in my scale.

Limited: 4/5 (He's a beast here)
Constructed: 3/5 (Not bad overall)

Art: Sonic had too much chinnese.../5
