5 is the highest rating.

4: Shikamaru & Temari (Strong Arm Tactics)

The Shika/Tema platoon is quite a monster if played right. Nice stats at turn 3, plus 5 Mental are just great. But, when you look at the effect you notice why people love this card. You can start a Mental Power Battle, or negate it. With 5 Mental it's possible you may be getting Outstanding Victories with this platoon alone. Now, if you combo it with Sakura, Kakashi (any version with Mental Power that is), or Tsunade... you're sure to make a killing.

Ratings:

Limited: 3/5
Constructed: 5/5

Shikamaru and Temari
[Strong Arm Tactics]

Yay for fan pairings on platoon cards. Well, I'm a big fan of this card, as I'm pretty sure everyone who has used them is. Five mental is insane, and the ability to start or stop mental battles on a whim is killer. Not only that, but their support vales are amazing for a turn three. The other great thing about this card is that it can be splashed pretty much anywhere, and if run with Sakura's Decision, you can net an impressive 5 cards, then use Shizune to heal it right back up. If this thing weren't a platoon, it'd be completely broken. Also, thanks to the chaining of ninja effects, damage during the EoJ can shut down it's effect. This is a hard to come by card, and for good reason.

Limited: 4/5 Easy to draft a Shikamaru or Temari
Constructed:4/5 (Unfortunately, platoons aren't 100% reliable.)

4: Shikamaru & Temari (Strong Arm Tactics)

Say hello to the platoon that can actually work against the infamous OC ninjas. That is the beloved Shikamari platoon. Now for one thing, it's support is insane, 4/4 on turn 3 is just great. It's Mental Power is off the charts at 5. Not to mention its effect that either starts or puts a stop to a Mental Power Battle for 2 chakra. Now it's a little pricey, but with the OC's on the prowl, it worth it. But if you don't want the effect that bad, you can just use Sakura's Decision, and yay, draw 5 cards! Outside of Bandai making a better version of this, this card will be played for a LONG while.

Constructed: 5/5 (stopping the OC's ups it more)
Limited: 1/5 (only Temari WP is in BoD, good luck getting it out).
Ryu Juini One of two cards that took over the metagame for an extended period of time, this platoon was a powerhouse. 4/4, 0/3, 5 Mental Power, a killer effect, and could abuse Sakura's Decision? It was a deadly card.

Alone, it wasn't much, but it was a driving force into what made Gaara of the Desert [Immense Power] have a firm sand-grip on the gonads of the metagame for a few months. It's still a powerful card, and a possible counter to the OC Ninjas... but time will tell if this Platoon falls into the junk pile like all others before it.

Shikamaru Nara & Temari [Strong-Arm Tactics]

Welcome Pojo'ers! Today we review #4 of our countdown, Shikamaru Nara & Temari [Strong-Arm Tactics].

This card was extremely abused before the chain-ge rule was applied. It has the highest mental power for a single ninja. EVERYONE played at least Shikamaru OR Temari (and usually still does). The stats are amazing; 4/4 healthy, 0/3 injured, T3 Platoon for Wind/Earth.

The effect back then was marvelous; it made people cower in fear if you had 2 Chakra. However, now you can chain to the effect and dismantle the threat.

Did I mention it's 4 support on T3?

4. Shikamaru Nara & Temari-Strong Arm Tactics

Here's a fun card that I picked up three of on it's creation, Shikamari! With the old rules, it was a god, with the new rules it's incredible, and really one of my fav cards in the game...I wish I could find more of a reason to run it in every deck. It's awesome, and Temari is one of my fav females characters, while Shika is my fav male char...what a drag...

It's a T3 platoon, 4/4 0/3 with Shadow and Weapon, 5 mental, and the best effect mental has ever had: During the Exchange of Jutsu, discard two chakra to make the battle mental or to make it regular. That right there has made this card one of the best in the game, and that's not even it's best use! Combine it with Sakura's Decision, and you can draw 5 cards off of one injury!

Shikmari is probably the best platoon in the game today, with incredible stats, a game changing effect, and incredible synergy that allows this card to swing games massively. Honestly, I think this may be my favorite card in the game...but I digress. This is a card that will continue to see play until they make a Shikamaru or Temari that's better than this platoon, which I doubt they will for a while.

Constructed: 5/5 Earth's best card in my opinion
Limited: 5/5 If you can get it, run it.
Art: 5/5 Temari is scary...
