Beastly Mage

Kabuto Yakushi

This is one decent version of Kabuto if you ask me. Two combat attributes, Ambush, Medical and 2 Mental... plus a good effect! By removing from play a Ninja in your discard pile to negate a Jutsu is nice. Just remember: the user of that Jutsu has to be of equal or lower value of that of the removed Ninja. Still, late game that should pose no problem for most. Pretty good Jonin, I must say.

StormVyper Zera

Kabuto [Stock]

I love this card; if only he wasn't a Kabuto. >.<

He's jutsu negation on a stick, and has some Nice healthy stats to boot plus Ambush. I don't think you'll be using this guy's effect to stop everything, but turning your discarded Ninja into a negation tool is not only a unique effect, but a strong one.

I tip my off to Bandai for this guy. They've certainly outdone themselves.

Card: Kabuto (Stock)

Hey guys. Today we are reviewing the new Kabuto from Foretold Prophecy.

First off, his stats are pretty good at 6/3, 2/2, almost as good as Kakashi's really. He has good characteristics in mental power 2, jonin, and ambush. His effect, however, does not warrant playing him.

His effect, when you boil it down, is you RFG one ninja from your discard to negate a jutsu being played by a ninja w/ entrance cost less than or equal to the RFGed ninja's entrance cost. There are several reasons why this card sucks. First off, his effect is very situational. You are hoping you have a high enough EC ninja in the discard pile for his effect to work. The thinking on that is inherently wrong, considering you want those higher turn ninjas to serve as end game ninjas.

Also, this card has competition from other kabutos. The first, most obvious one, is Kabuto (Database). Being a staple in water decks, in order to warrant removing Database from your lineup, you had better be putting in a very good ninja as a replacement. This Kabuto is just not it. Also, even among turn 5 Kabutos, this is not the best one. The SR Kabuto from Emerging Alliance is minimally better. Kabuto Covert Operative is much better than this card.

Constructed: 1/5 <---- This card is competing with Kabuto Database, with a mediocre effect. Guess who wins that one.

Limited: 2/5 <---- A little better here as being a turn 5 with good stats is decent enough.

lets see sound/jonin/male/medical/ambush/mp:2
its stats are ok 6/3-2/2

its effect its ok during th eoj you can remove 1 ninja from your discard pile to negate a jutsu of a ninja battling againts this ninja with entrance cost or lower to the ninja you remove.
