Beastly Mage

Naruto Uzumaki

Welcome to another week of reviews. Today's card is from the new tins. This version of Naruto packs the same stats as [Special Power], but it can be deployed at turn 3 (with a hand cost of 1, I might add). Thing is the two effects: the self-milling and the protection. The self-milling effect only applies if you don't have the Final Valley mission card in play, which lasts a few turns. The protection effect is continuous, no matter what missions are out, so your opponent can't use Caged Bird or something like that on him. Now, should you use this version over [Special Power]? It really depends on your strategy. Though he's well protected and packs good stats, the milling effect is not that good. He can only work in a deck that's focused on the Final Valley Mission card and getting him out quick (as well as finishing the game quick too).

Naruto Uzumaki [Overflowing Chakra]

This week, we will be reviewing some pretty insane cards. We start it off with Naruto in One Tail Kyuubi mode. First off, regarding the picture, he has a hand cost of ZERO. The picture on Bandai is incorrect.

Now letʼs look at his stats. 4/0 healthy and 6/0 injured for a turn 3 ninja. You will see no other turn 3 ninjas with stats this ridiculous. But with these stats, there must be some drawback right? WRONG. Instead, he is unaffected by ANY of your opponents effect. Sand Tomb? Up yours. Third Hokage [APW]? Go to hell. End of the Demon? You wish. Emi? Not.

I personally think it was a bad move by Bandai to release cards like this with almost no weakness. The only ways to control this beast is with Caged Bird or Cursed Fate (These cards end up being under your opponents control after you use them, thatʼs why they work). Making a broke card like this (and the others we will be reviewing this upcoming week) forces you to run them in order to win tournaments. Bandai, I really hope you errata these card so they either canʼt be affected by jutsus OR canʼt be affected by ninja effects but not both. The only reason this card didnʼt receive a perfect score is because youʼre forced you to replace your 0 drop Naruto.

Rating: 4.9/5
