Beastly Mage

The one Who Inherits and Entrusts the Will

Before, this card was as broken as they come for Leaf/Fire decks. But, when it got an errata, suddenly people stopped using it. Let's face it, there are better draw power cards out there that aren't as situational as this one. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad card, but not one that is seeing much play anymore.

Limited: 2/5
Constructed: 2/5
Art: The only good thing about this card/5

The One Who Inherits and Entrusts the Will.

This was once one of the most broken cards in the game, now reduced to a card almost no one will touch.  When it was first printed, it allowed you to draw until you had 6 cards in your hand.  Now, it lets you draw until you have 3 in hand.  That is a large difference, and even if you use it to its full potential, to draw 3, its a turn 5 mission, and only happens once.  Making it inferior to Reunion with the Former Teacher.  If you're desperate for good draw in fire, it is likely better to run Surprise, Shadow in the Moonlight, Tsunade's Guess, or Just Like Drifting Clouds.  All of those are at least 2 turns earlier than Inherits, and although they'll get you less cards(potentially), it will be better to get what you need right away, instead of having to wait until turn 5 to have to ditch your whole hand, just to draw 3(if you want to maximize your draw.).  It isn't bad now, just not nearly as good, and compared to the earlier turn fire draw missions, isn't quite worth waiting for.  If you want a late turn fire mission, run Tide or Another Way.

Limited:1/5(You need all leaf.)

the one who inherits and entrusts the will

5 turn fire mission, if you have 2 or less cards in your hand and only leaf ninja in your village, you can draw till you have three cards in hand. god that is a great card, when you use it you will most likely have no cards left in your hand after it so you can start to work with something again, a luxury you won't often get, because most draw cards end out being one for one.  If you have it and run any sort of fire deck you should run it, unless of course you run more than 5 non leaf ninja

constructed 5/5, give us one of those for gaara!!!!!!!!!
limited 4/5, run it if you have leaf ninja, otherwise its a rather dead draw when if you screw something up

Welcome to Thursday's Naruto CotD.  Today's card is The One who Inherits and Intrusts the will.

Pre-errata, this made fire playable (along with Third APW).  You used to be able to draw until your hand size was 6, as long as all of your ninjas were leaf.

However, post-errata this card is horrific.  Yuck.

Limited: 1/5 (Unless pulled from when R&R came out, then it's 5/5 in a booster release)

Constructed: 1/5
