Beastly Mage

Moonlight Rasengan

This is one version of the Rasengan that has been seeing a lot of play lately. With Prince client cards being so popular lately, it only makes sense this card would also pop up in a few decks. Moonlight Rasengan gives Naruto (with clone status) +7/0 and a battle reward (if a victory or outstanding victory is won). But, if there's a "Land of Moon" Client in play on your side (like, let's say, a Prince) you get two battle rewards instead of one. Even though only Naruto can use this Jutsu, there's many ways of pulling this off. Try it and see.

Moonlight Rasengan

This will be our last preview of the week, so enjoy the holidays, pull some good stuff from your packs!

Circus theme again…ugh…Well, I guess this version of Rasengan isn’t ba…..you know what? I don’t care if it is the holidays. I’m not gonna lie, this card flat out sucks. Only one user? Check. Needs a specific client in play to get the added effect? Check. Super Rare? Check. Same power as other cards sharing a similar name? Check. Yep, this card has all the markings for a terrible card. Why is this a super? I’d rather have a rare from this set than this piece of junk. Unless you are running the circus theme, or the new starter deck Naruto platoon for fun (and you should never run that car unless it’s for fun either…) prepare to let this thing collect dust in your binder. It’s about as useful as that new Naruto & Sakura platoon we got in this set…

Limited: 3/5 (Not hard to draft a Naruto)
Constructed: 1/5 (Wish I could go lower.)
Art: Oh so many jokes with this one: “Elune be praised!” “In the name of the Moon, I will punish you!” “Naruto used Moonlight! Naruto restored HP!” Heh, I can keep going too…
Mylo Moonlight Rasengan- 2 Lightning and 1 random. Usual + 7 for a rasengan. When it wins a victory or outstanding victory, you get a reward. If you have a Land of moon client you get 2 rewards. I like it. It is very good with the starter deck naruto because you search for the prince, he get clone status, and you can play this. Good with the naruto-shadow clone platoon because then it becomes 1 lightning. :)

Limited:4/5(the two best ones to use him with come in the starter)
Constructed: 3/5 Never saw a Rasengan deck, but i could see it having potential.

This is one of the best Rasengans available aside from the fact that it isn't technically Rasengan (longer name). Basically, it's a normal Rasengan, but you get 2 BRs after the battle (because you'll be using this in a Prince deck, obviously). The thing is, this:
Prince Deck

Turn 0: Drop Naruto, get Prince, drop Idate, attack if you went second
Turn 1: Drop Lee/Sakura and draw, go in for a bunch of attacks
Turn 2: Drop Gaara, Sumaru, Lee or Sakura and go for attacks, drawing more and more cards fast
Turn 3: Drop another Ninja like the new Temari (HUGE!) and go in for more quick attacks
Turn 4: Charge Chakra. Use Naruto Vs. Sasuke to send out your army of Genin. You'l get 2 more for each win, and a further 4 from Naruto's battle (Rasengan's 2 + NvS's 2) for game.
Anything after: Drop Kakashi and draw more. Use Michiru to draw more. Use Jiraiya [Prescence] for even more rewards while you drop huge Jutsu cards.

So yes, this card is excellent in a Prince deck for a huge pump and 20% of the way closer to victory, and it allows the deck to win even without Naruto Vs. Sasuke.

5/5

Fun Fact: Screw the yules, I have money.
The Poo Toucher Today we will covering Moonlight Rasengan from the new set approaching wind. For 2 lightning chakra and 1 any you can give your naruto+clone status +7/+0, then if you manage to win a victory or outstanding victory you gain 1 battle reward, 2 if you have a prince client on the table.

This card is seeing a lot of play in the new Naruto vs. Prince deck. Naruto vs. Prince is a lightning or lightning/x deck that uses the prince mechanic (naruto, rock lee, sakura & kakashi along with michiru) along with the Naruto vs. Sasuke mission card. The idea is that you are going to be playing a naruto who has clone status on turn 0, so this card will win you 2 battle rewards a majority of the time bringing you that much closer to winning the game by droping the ever popular NVS.

Speaking as a competitive player, I am not a fan of this card. In lightning you have shadow clone jutsu from eternal rivalry and the only thing that moonlight does better is maby score you 2 battle reward, I just don't feel that the 1 user requirment isn't worth it. By no means am I saying that this is a bad card, but in this game you have 50 slots, only about 10 of which are jutsu. In this element there are 3-4 jutsu that I would gladly play above this card, and that makes it hard to fit this in.

All together, if you're going to play the naruto vs. prince deck, it's worth a try as a 1 of.

Competitive: 2 out of 5. Just a little too underwhelming for a 1 user jutsu.

Limited: 4 out of 5. Pulling a super in a format with naruto guard of the prince is great

Art: 1 out of 5. would've dug it better had it been naruto on michirus back with that cool sphere.
