Shikamaru[The Only One to Move Up]

Yay! Quest for Power Released on Friday and so far I've only boughten 5 packs, which is way below average for me. I should have 6 boxes by this weekend. :) On another note, Yay for Shikamaru becoming a Chunin. This actually messes things up a bit though because now that he's a Chunin, he won't have the 0 or
1 drop slots anymore like he used to, so hopefully he will have a decent effect. He's obviously an Earth Ninja. His stats are pretty nice for a turn 2 Ninja giving 3 support on turn 2 is nice, which I think is above the average for turn 2. Although, when he is injured he only provides one support. Now his effect looks kind of nifty in my opinion. Shikamaru has two effects, one when his team is blocking and one when his team is attacking. When he has a Genin as a head ninja that's attacking, that Genin gets +1/0, which is good because then you can have Sasuke AoC moving up to 5 power against another all Genin team or Naruto having a real threat on the competition. His other effect gives a Genin +0/+1 when sent out to block during the turn. So look at Temari, Sakura, or any other of the support ninja's, Temari could have a possible 4 support with Shikamaru in the team. I personally think this Shikamaru has potential to be really good, but right now, I prefer the lower drops for Shikamaru as you need to hold onto as many lower drops as possible to hit your curve. Just think about this in the early game, a team with Sasuke AoC as head, Shikamaru and Temari support. When attacking they could have a power of 11 by turn 2. And when blocking they would also have 11 power, which is a lot by turn 2 especially if you hit your drops. Just my long opinion on Shikamaru.

My ratings:

Constructed: 4/5 He has potential, it just depends on where people will put him in their decks.

Limited: 4.5/5 3 support in this format is god, and on top of that getting other Genin's as well can put you above the rest of the competition

Shikamaru Nara ( the only one to move up)

We used to like shikamaru for his huge support, even if he was a turn 1. Finally, shikamaru is a chunin and is now a turn 2. He still has all of that sweet mental power. As for stats, he has 3 support, which is huge support for a turn 2. Usually, you will get that much support at around turn 4. He has only one combat, but at least something. In injured he has only 1 support, instead of zero like the usual. I'm not sure if it is a substitute for the earlier shikamarus, but you may like to run 1. Try it and see.

My ratings:

Constructed: 4
Limited: 2.5

Woohoo! Series 7!

Okay, so, w-h-a-t-e-v-e-r!!! Shikamaru Nara [The only one to move up] is today's carp. Wait no, carp's a fish. Quack quack. It's a moo. He's the average Shika, but with better stats and effects and aww what the crap. We have [Formation] and [Flexibility]. We don't need this!
