Animal Mill
January 14, 2008

Milling is a fun way to play. Instead of going for Battle Rewards, you can ALSO deckout the opponent! It helps even MORE if they run Drawing Cards! Dump your opponent's best cards! Cripple half their deck in one turn! Who cares!? This way is SO fun to play with, and is very underestimated. Once your opponent's deck runs out, you score an automatic win!

Ah, the Animal Deck. I love it! I just flip out for Kiba and Akamaru, now that I stopped liking Gaara so much. E-MO! Well, I like how the Animals have so many milling cards! Lots of people underestimate them, and I just ordered a crapload of Animal Cards. Most people see the Animal theme as just a deck running 3 Kibas, 3 Akamarus, and a couple Jutsu. I see it as a mill deck with 3 each of Kiba, Akamaru, Kuromaru, Tsume, and ALL of their Jutsus.

Here's a list of staples for the deck I'm talking about:

If you have trouble seeing why Kiba Inuzuka [Man Beast Clone] should be used here, please punch yourself in the head, run outside, bury yourself in dirt, and crap in your pants. The whole POINT of the deck is to mill, and to do that, you're going to need Akamaru. He's got some good milling. Which Akamaru should you use?

This one, from the Starter Deck. Send him out to attack and discard from the opponent's deck. Yay! And [Man Beast Clone] will get Akamaru AND Kiba out by turn 1, something that my makeshift Animal Deck is able to 3 out of 4 games. This also sets up for getting Double Headed Wolf out. At the time I am writing this, Battle of Destiny has not come out (and neither have the cards I ordered come) but if you don't know what these cards are, go here: http://www.bandaicg.com/naruto/showthread.php?t=44753&goto=nextoldest and read the entire article at least three times. I read it that many times every day!

Now that you probably understand how important these guys are, check out Big Momma. Kiba and Akamaru are important, mainly because of their “Fang” Combat Attribute. But.... By the late game, there's no way that Kiba and Akamaru could be standing up against these later threats, like Hokages, Jonin, and Akatsuki Ninjas. So let Mom take over for them! Your 2/0-0/0 Kiba needs to pump up, and so when the game gets late and the Genin become bad too far in, switch to the older Inuzukas!

Early game, your team of 3 should be doing OK with their Jutsu helping out, and later on you'll be morphing into Double Headed Wolf. 5/4-4/3 should hold you up for a long time. Eventually, when you draw into Tsume, you can stack her up in front of DHW for a team of 10! Plus, even if you don't have the Big Bad Wolf out, Tsume can almost flawlessly act as a bigger Kiba, and all thanks to her “Fang” Combat Attribute!

But what about Akamaru!? Late game, something with lower stats than Sakura can't hold up one bit!!! Sure, we've got a late-game replacement for Kiba, but we need one for Akamaru. So, just for that purpose, we have Kuromaru! Although, he won't hold up as good as Akamaru due to the good amount of cards for him, such as the Dynamic Marking cards.Too bad Kuromaru never learned how to pee with accuracy. At least we know that at least AKAMARU won't miss (boys, you know what I'm talking about).

This Jutsu, Ninja Art of Beast Mimicry: All Fours Jutsu, is probably the most important one in the whole deck. Since most of the Deck's focus will be set on milling, it might fall behind just a little bit on combat, or maybe the opponent is sporting a Sannin or two. By simply setting down this Jutsu, which replaces itself by only costing a single Chakra (Discard one chakra, apply effect, move Jutsu card to Chakra Area), you get to DOUBLE the user's points! Kuromaru's an eight! Wolfy and Tsume are 10's! Tsume's effect will give her TWO additional points to each stat! Tsume ALONE could rival Tsunade AND Katsuyu! Or The First and Second Hokages would cripple together in front of this ONE Ninja!

This is truly a killer thing. Why the cost isn't megagihugic, I have no clue. But this simple, easy to get, easy to play card will more than make up any lack of Power your Milling Objective will offset you with.

Till my cards come,

AND SEND ME SOME FREAKIN COMBOES ALREADY!!!!
