Wow... sorry about missing Wednesdays card... its been a hectic week. So, here we go again.

Flying Kick

1 cost Plot Twist

Target character has flight this turn. While attacking this turn, that character gets +3 ATK.

Ah, harkening back to the good old days of Doom/ Gamma Bomb and New Brotherhood decks... Sentinal Curve, and Sentinel Throw Up (Curve is one'a my all time favorite decks, BTW). Flying Kick is an excellent stand-by card. 1 cost for +3 ATK is solid. And adding Flying is just an added bonus.

I'm one of the guys that can't afford to buy a ton of cards, so I run with commons alot in place of some of the bigger chase rares. This card right here takes the place of the Savage Beatdowns that I don't have. In sealed, if you get a Flying Kick, you will most likely play it. Its good. In constructed, its a cheap fast boost. Early game, it can be crazy cool. Suddenly my 1/2 becomes a 4/2 Flight, and your little 1/1 is Pwnzed... take 3 breakthrough. YAY!

Sealed: 5/5 Play it. You'll be happy.

Constructed: 4/5 A solid card for most straight forward "I wanna hurt you" decks. Sure, there are other cards you can play, but Flying Kick is easy to get, reliable, and just plain cool... I mean, c'mon! Its Iron Fist!

As a small note, this card has Errata on it. It now can only target YOUR character. Flying Kick was abused with Overload to kill many turn 1 and 2 characters. In a 'New Brotherhood' deck, this would open the way early on for some serious hurts. Of course, any other deck could abuse it too, but I was playing against a New Brotherhood deck when I first saw it happen. It hurt. Alot.

Plot Twist

Target character has flight this turn.
While attacking this turn, that character gets +3 ATK.

Dude seriously what do you expect me to say about Flying Kick? It gives you turn long flight with +3 attack and it only has a cost of 1. That’s all I got.

Sealed: 4
Constructed: 4

This is an example of a good, decent plot twist.

Flying Kick
Plot Twist/1
Target character gets +3 ATK while attacking and has flight this turn.

When you look at any attack pump, you always compare it to Flying Kick. Always. It is better that half the attack pumps out there, but it’s also worse that half. If the attack pumps suck, use Flying Kick. If you’ve got something better, use that something better. There’s also that added bonus of flight, so you’ll always be able to attack any visible character with any one of your characters.

Marvel Modern: 3/5
Silver Age: 3/5
Golden Age: 3/5
Overall: 3/5

In the words of Harry Osborn, Soooo Good…
