Hey look at what we are reviewing today, is Zabuza the demon (should be of the hidden mist). I don’t blame people saying “I lost” or “that stinks” when this hits the field. Most of the time, when used right, Zabuza means you win the game.

General-
Here we have one of the few 5+ turns drop ninja. Besides him, there are 4 copies of Kakashi, 2 Hokages, and Might Guy. When we compare all of them together, most would agree that Zabuza is up there, if not the best.

Here’s why. Its effect, though not valid, allows you to kill ninjas that are injured by him. That counts during the showdown, as well as with the help of cards such as Fire Ball Jutsu, of Water Dragon Jutsu. It is also has status that rival all the other 5+ turn ninjas. He, however, does have only 2 support, but lets face it, who wants to put him in the back. Of course effect being not valid, once he is injure, his effect is gone. Hokage (village leader) can solve that problem easily. He is also a Jonin (no surprise) which means he can use almost every jutsu in the game, almost.

Overall, if you play a water deck that is base on power (98%) this is a must, required, essential, can’t live with out; can I say it more clearly?

Hey all! ZanarkandAce here with yet another card that I enjoy! Zabuza Momochi, the Demon of the Hidden Mist!

Now, first things first. I HATE the fact that they called this card the Demon of Cloud Village. He is from the Mist Village. But that aside, this is one of the greats from the first set! Zabuza Momochi. Now, the big thing that you need to know is that his effect is not, I repeat NOT Valid. Meaning, for those of you who might not know, that his effect doesn't come off if he's injured. Now, being a 6 healthy, you have a strong presence. Back him up with someone like Shikamaru [Lazy Bum], and he's an 8. And that's just the 2 of them. Or, you could take 1 less support, maling him a 7, and have some good backup for a Mental battle if you chose Shikamaru [Formation!] And on top of that, anyone who takes damage from anyone in Zabuza's team is gone. No injured Status, just gone. Very nice, huh? To top it off, if you bring out some jutsus with his support ninjas that do damage, target the back people, cause that way, they are dead too, as it does state that

Now, on the down side, this Ninja is a 5 turn cost. Ouch... Later game hitter, which isn't all that bad, but it's better once you get him out. Make sure you have a support backup before Zabuza gets out, cause you might be waiting for a while...


Constructed: 4.5/5 The only thing bringing this down is the 5 turn cost. Thats the only painful thing...

Limited: See Above. 4.5/5 It's a great card to have, and even with the game being new, it's Cookie Cutter already.

(lol, j/k, but everyone should know this card.)

I'm just gonna get straight to it.

Constructed Review: You know, I don't even know if I should bother. Know
what won the Jonin Event at Origins? Fire/Water. The ComicCon in
California? Fire/Water. Top 6 decks in GenCon? Fire/Water. This card is
un-freaking-believable. Fire-Ball Jutsu, Water Dragon Jutsu, Pheonix Flower
Jutsu, Senbon Rainstorm, 8-Trigram Divinination Seal Spel Formula (correctly
placed, of course) means Zabuza kills someone, possible even a whole team.

Constructed Rating: 4.5/5 E-mazing.

Limited Review: Eh.. the hand cost really hurts him. I'd rather play the
5/1, 4/1 no text Zabuza and not have to worry about hand cost. Still, if
you have a lot of Water, nab him.

Limited Rating: 3/5 Nice, but the hand cost hurts in Limited.
 
Playdoh Dude Zabuza Momochi [Demon of the Cloud Village]--

Cookiecutter fans, eat your heart out. In any deck, this card, or variations of it, are run. Zabuza is truly a demon,discarding almost all ninja that come his way, at least if he got in a solid hit. First of all, he should be able to get in some nice hits, with a 6/2 4/1 stat set, he'll take down almost any other ninja as long as he leads. Second, he's Jonin, so he can use all those damaging cards that will make your opponent quiver. Yep, hes that good.

Play him. Why? Because he is the best Water card in the game. You need a card to pay his hand cost? USe Haku or yesterdays card, both are amazing.

One word. Powerhouse. Everyone who plays this game probably has a few stories about how this one card turned a game around, whether for them or against them. Even without Fire Ball Jutsu or Water Dragon Jutsu, this card is highly effective at turning the tide, or just pummeling an opponent.

He WAS the meta during the Path To Hokage days. He's lost a bit of his luster now that Mental Power decks are flexing their muscle, and I've found that he has a bit of trouble against Taijutsu decks, but he's still a force to be reckoned with.

Get him out early with Kono [Hokage's Grandson] for some big fun. Needless to say, this card has excellent synergy with Haku. A dedicated water build can be a formidable foe in the hands of a skilled player, and the bread-and-butter is usually the Demon.

Due to his cost, he's not splashable, and that's something that I love in this game. You have to plan to use him, meaning you build your deck with him in mind. In my Fire/Water hybrid, I had to include enough Fire and Water cards to be able to bring out him and Kakashi.

Bottom line: If you're running Water, you'd want him in your line-up. Using him in a deck with a few Water cards thrown in may not be a good move because of his hand cost.

In Limited, if you've been lucky enough to pull a decent amount of Aqua cards, he's your man.

Flavor Text: "I am Zabuza Momochi...'The Demon of the hidden Mist'!!"

Zabuza here is my favorite card. He's got a lot of playability and IMO Zabuza control decks are the tier 1 in the current meta.

He's Water which is awesome for a card with such power. Being a Mist Rogue Ninja doesn't help nor hurt him in the current meta.

His Costs are moderate. Being a Ninja with a Turn Cost of 5, he needs to use a Water Card as his Hand Cost payment, which hinders his splashability but helps even out his broken (And I mean broken) effect.

Zabuza's got pretty good combat even when injured, 6 and 4 respectively, which will get boosted from support from allies. His support is pretty weak, I mean, even an early game drop like Shikamaru Nara [Lazy Bum] can meet his support. Though with his effect he won't be a supporting Ninja in most cases.

Zabuza's effect is where it all boils down. While you don't get battle rewards, you can quickly clear the field for a few quick strikes. This effect makes Zabuza tier 1 and a great card in general. I suggest any deck that has alot of water cards splash [excuse the pun] in Zabuza.

Today, we look at Zabuza Momochi [Demon of Cloud Village].

This card is undoubtedly one of the most powerful Jounin in the game at the moment, being a staple in a lot of decks. (Mainly Water/Lightning Control.).

First off, we look at his stats, which are G0D compared to his entry/hand cost. Being a 6/2 healthy and a 4/1 injured makes this guy a valuable asset to any deck running water. Besides that, the only Ninja I see that comes anywhere close to this guy before him would be (To an extent) Asuma Sarutobi. Though, the one thing that sets this guy apart from most other cards is the ability to destroy an entire team via Outstanding Battle Victory, as opposed to just the head ninja dying and the other’s getting injured. Umm…Sexy Jutsu anyone? :D

Also, one other thing that sets him apart from other Jounin is that it’s written as “Rouge Ninja (Jounin)”, making him compatible with “Unwanted Child”

Not much else to say about this card that hasn’t been said before.

Limited Format: 4/5 (Subtract a point if you’re just splashing him into a deck with less then 8 other water cards.)

Constructed Format: 4.5/5 (The closest thing Naruto has to Yu-Gi-Oh’s C.C. problem.)

Art: 3.5/5 (Yes, Zabuza’s cool, and he has a big freakin’ sword…but there’s nothing THAT special about the art here… “The Worst for Last”, now THAT’s artwork.)

I like this guy. not only is he a bad@$$ motha, he has aok effect.withsome help fromWaterPrision Jutsu tohelp out, hecan be a real pain. I like this guy. he's cool, but not as effective as the Zero Visibility one. he can be good, justin certian decks.

Zabuza Momochi: Demon of Cloud Village
Wow, straight from healthy to dead. Naruto hates this guy.
Zabuza is a must-have for any water deck; he can completely off one ninja in a victory or the whole team in a complete victory. 6/2 is good for a 5 turn, and 4/1 isn't bad for injured.

Limited: 5/5 in a water deck; an obvious choice.
Constructed: 4/5 No mental power.
Art: 4/5 He's Zabuza, but he's not really doing anything.

Zabuza Momochi [Demon of Cloud Village]

This was the big bad demonic evil of Tournaments before Coils was released. Turn 5 ninja (meaning a Water discard), 6/2 - 4/1 with a kill what you hurt ability when it leads the charge. Calling this strong is like calling Mount Everest a 'big mountain', it's true, but not exactly detailed. The original tournament winning decks used this and Fire so they could throw out Water Dragon Jutsu and Fire Ball Jutsu so a team of Zabuza (6/2), Kakashi (6/3) and Third (6/4) would be able to crush anything, and any Jutsu that could threaten you was halted by either Sharigan Eye or a Fire Ball/Water Dragon killing the user (and halting the Jutsu).

His Combat Type (Mist) doesn't help or hurt, his Rogue Nin and Jonin Status are very nice. And the only other Zabuza you'd EVER want to run is the no effect for the earlier turn deploy, and even that one turn advantage is NOT worth it. The Zero Visiblity Zabuza is not going to be worth it either, unless you need a deck based entirely around weakening everything on the field (but Zabuza Momochi and anyone that can mimic his Combat Type).

Fun Fact: Stupid rulings says Dosu does damage if he EVER was Head Ninja, so you can Substitution or Shadow Clone Jutsu (J-061) to put this Zabuza in the lead of the team, it'll cause the damage and kill combo.

Zabuza Momochi Rating - 5/5 (Sad thing about dying in the story, is you won't get much more support later on.)
Constructed (Water) - 4.5/5 (Again, see above. Thing is that Water will constantly be growing in power for the whole game, since Water is the evil chakra in this game.)
Limited - 2/5 (5/5 IF YOU GET THIS, but it's a rare.)

Art - Nothing special here...
