Naruto Contest: Fantasy Card Set
March 21, 2007

Hiya, folks.  I just wanted to announce something fun for all you people who like card games.  For those of us with the creative spark who are easily bored and like Naruto CCG, I've cooked up a little contest for you.  This contest allows you to play card designer in which you send ideas for cards that should be in an upcoming fantasy set which will never be made but is something fun to do nonetheless.  The card set limit will be determined by how many people submit ideas, which means spread the word folks, and your idea may make it into the final cut for the card set.  Now the boring rules part.

1. In the spirit of Naruto, please try to make ninja names as Japanese-sounding as possible to honor Mr.Kishimoto (guy who writes the manga and makes his living off it) as that's what he does when he comes up with names.

2. Please don't try to "Narutofy" a ninja character from another anime/manga/video game.  Oh and try not to use an actual Naruto character unless they haven't been introduced yet, although I will accept a good interpretation of characters introduced in the card game already.
3. I won't tolerate some idiot who tries to add insults and cursing in their cards.  If you're trying to be cute, funny or just stupid, I'll e-mail your idea back with a try again message (and maybe an insult of my own :) ).

4. Try to make an accurate representation of the actual cards.  Include all stats on the cards as well.  And please don't make a ninja with outrageously huge stats(like 99/99) or a Jutsu that does a billion damage or something like that.  Stats for ninja can be no higher than 9(i.e. the numbers that represent combat and support), and damage on a card cannot exceed 2 unless you flip a coin or something (see a Jutsu like 64 Palms Strike from Revenge and Rebirth).  And no mental above 4 unless it has an ability like Shikamaru Nara, Smarty Pants.

5. Try for original effects.  Please don't copy the effect of a card already in existence.

6. Don't send my examples back to me, on pain of feeling something worse than the Tsukiyomi Jutsu(I'll tie you up and force you to listen to paris Hilton's album...lol)

7. Please try to spell somewhat decent.  If I have no idea what you are saying, I'm not considering it for the contest.

Here's an example of what I'm looking for for Ninja, Jutsu and Mission:
-Ninja
Genji Yamamoto        Turn:5  Cost:1   Element:Wind
Fuma/Jonin/Male/Mental:3
Healthy:6/3   Injured: 4/2
[Fulfilling a Father's Dream] Valid: When this ninja's team wins an Outstanding Victory, search your deck for the card of you choice and put it in your hand.  Shuffle your deck afterwards.
"My father dreamed of collecting information on every Jutsu ever developed in an effort to develop better measures of defense, and I'll continue his mission until my own death."
Attribute: Mimicry
Jutsu:
Mimicry Jutsu                                   Element:Wind
Cost: 1 Chakra of any type, 1 Wind Chakra
Target: 1 Jutsu in either player's discard pile
Effect: This Jutsu gains the effect of the target.  If the user of this Jutsu has the Mimicry combat attribute, you may put this Jutsu back in your hand instead of in your Chakra Pile.
"My family's Kekki Genkai is the ability to mimic a ninja's fighting style and Jutsus simply by watching them closely."
Mission:
Jutsu Diary                                       Element: Wind
Turn: 2  Cost:1
Effect: Look at the top three cards in your deck.  Select a Jutsu from those cards and shuffle the rest back into your deck.
"This is the result of my father's research."
Using those as examples, send me your cards at zeno9d9@yahoo.com.  I hope to hear from you guys soon.
