Harry Potter
                      Card of the Week
                        Thanks for writing in
                        response to my article...

                        I think the input is
                        valuable.

First of all, as regards to
                        the deck, It is
purely untested, and I was not attempting to give a
working deck to people, only a starting point for
                        someone to work off of...

                        The cards in the quiddich
set arent even available yet, after all. I agree that
lots of adventures could be dangerous.  Unless your
                        opponent is pretty
much forced to destroy them, you are wasting your space.
                        So I agree with that.

As far as getting 4 In The
                        stands...

                        I would never suggest anyone
go out and buy a whole bunch of booster boxes

                        for that purpose! I would
think that you could acquire several of them through
                        trading

                        and/or purchasing single
cards.  This can be done through Ebay, with people
selling there rares, or in other ways. I personally dont
buy that many packs... I like to trade and buy good
                        cards individually.

                        I generally dont consider
the price of cards while deck building...I try to make
something like I want and then substitute less expensive
                        similar cards if needed....

                        Finally, I think that Prof.
McGonagall really is good, because the ability to
discard an adventure is very helpful against cards like
Privet Drive which prevent spell casting.  But her
other ability of providing a transfiguration
lesson is very strong....it is similar to Flitwick and

                        Snape's abilities.  And
her secondary ability is at least on par with theirs,
probably better.  I consider Flitwick to be the
                        best character from
the base set, and I think McGonagall is better...

I dont use her only to kill
the adventure....its the fact that she provides
a transfiguration lesson, which starts me out with a
lesson in play and makes it so I can play transfigure
spells without playing any lessons in my deck, in
ADDITION to the secondary ability to destroy an

                        adventure, which makes her
                        so valuable.

Of course, I wouldn't use her for EVERY single deck...
                        Hermoine is very good for
decks which play out lots of lessons, But I prefer to
use less lessons and play someone who starts out by
providing one lesson, and then use items like borrowed
wand or cage in addition to lessons to get my power up.

                        I included 21 lessons + 5
item cards providing power and you start with one lesson
from your character... I thought that was pretty good.

                        Anyways, thanks for the
                        input!

                        If I never said anything
that anyone would disagree with, then I would only be
saying things that everyone already knew, so what would
                        be the point of writing?

                        Thanks!

                        I'm glad that some people
                        are actually reading my stuff.

                        -Alex
