Red Tail Pull – GT Baby Saga

Rare - #231

Setup – Non-Combat

Power: You may shuffle 3 Dragon Balls you control into their owner's Life Deck(s) to advance your MP a Personality level.

And I thought Jump Kick was bad.

Let’s break this down. Setup. Red. That already generally sounds bad, because most Red decks revolve around being in combat and whatnot.

You need to shuffle 3 DBs in to even use this card. Unless you’re a DB deck, you rarely have 3 DBs in the first place. And if you’re a DB deck, why would you be sending DBs back into your deck? To avoid HUH??? Uh huh sure. Red DB typically means Blazing Mastery. But shouldn’t you want to keep your DBs out?

Alright, you gain a level. Cool. In expanded, this card would be broke… if it weren’t for the GT rule where if you use a GT card to level you cannot win by Most Powerful Personality Victory. So that makes this card effectively quite useless since you could just remove 10 cards from your discard to level.

So yeah… you could just remove 10 to gain a level or you could waste deck space on playing this in hopes you’ll have 3 DBs you don’t mind sending back into your deck (which isn’t always a bad thing if you want to reuse the card powers). But regardless, I think I’m going to be good with the normal leveling and whatnot. I don’t like wasting space over cards that are this situational, not to mention DB decks like setup, and drills go when you level.

Expanded: 1.4 out of 5.0 (doesn’t work with anger…)

Focused: 1.7 out of 5.0 (hey you can send those DBs back in)

Sealed: 1.0 out of 5.0 (chances that you’ll pull 3 DBs, have them all out, and this card, and need to level? RIGHT…)

GT Rare #231
Non-Combat Setup

I've said it once, I'll say it again. GT has some WEIRD cards. This is one of them. Don't get me wrong, it has its uses, its just odd.

A setup card that lets you shuffle 3 dragon balls you control into their owner's life deck to gain a personality level. It can be nice. Say you want to pull that combo off with that Earth Dragon Ball 3 again, or you wanted to utilize Black Star 7 one more time. Maybe your in a huge hurry to level, or need to level but you don't have the discard pile or anger raising to do so? The card is nice, but it kills those DB set ups you might be working on in sacrifice for a personality level.

I've never been a big fan of leveling, some decks call for it, some decks don't. This card can help you if you need to get the stage three and are stuck on stage two. Usually if I'm leveling, I like to keep my dragon balls in play, but that just my personaly opinion. Not exactly the best card in the world, but it does have it uses.

Expanded: 1 of 5 (too many ways to level)
Focused: 2.3 of 5 (more use here)
Sealed: 1 of 5 (chances of having 3 DBs?)
