Black Clash - GT Baby Saga Preview
Uncommon - Preview #4
Combat - Physical (Backer)

Power: Physical attack doing +5 power stages. If successful, gain 2 power stages and your opponent discards a card at random from his hand.

Imagine how broken this card was when it also did 8 life cards. This card is still pretty decent regardless. Not to mention it is currently the only styled Backer, which gives Black a really big boost that it probably doesn't even need.

Making it a Backer allows access to this card every turn, and comboing Energetic Mastery with this attack gives you major card advantage, not to mention a big attack. This can still be played in some decks, but Face Slap, IMO, is still probably the better bet. In Focused however, definitely give this card a whirl in both your deck and as your Backer.

This is a decent card that your opponent is probably going to have to stop, and hence it should help out your other attacks as well. Regardless, it could help you level with Energetic, or just plain give you card advantage in Scientific Mastery decks. It can possibly find homes in the Z Mastery decks as well, but a lot less so after the nerfing of Black Clash's 8 life cards.

I'd definitely consider this as a Backer over a main deck card, but either way it is still a decent card. If you are going Black, you can't go wrong with this as your Backer. Try it out.

Expanded: 3.9 out of 5.0 (a slew of other cards that are a bit better, but still decent)
Focused: 4.7 out of 5.0 (aren't too many cards that are any better, while it works with Energetic really well)
Sealed: 4.5 out of 5.0 (decent card to mess around with; probably throw in all your copies if you can)

GT Preview Card
Physical Combat/Backer Card

Until they edited this thing as one of the first GT Erratas, this card was just scary. Now, it still just mean and effective, but not as frightening as before.

This card goes perfect in a hand manipulation deck. A physical attack that discards a card from you opponents hand, which is always nice. The fact that is a nice physical with a PAT +5 just makes it mean. Use this card with the Energetic Mastery, and you've got some powerful card manipulation.

>From the backer stand point, the powerstages are high, the PUR is decent, and if the HT its behind has an open power box, its a wonderful ability to have. A constant hand manipulation with a physical attack. There are so many uses for this card its not funny.

I love this card, and its a must for any black deck, hand manipulation or not. If its a coloress deck (which is doubtful these days) its still a wonderful card for anything.

Expanded: 4.5 of 5
Focused: 4.5 of 5
Sealed: 4.5 of 5

Black Clash

Best backer in the base set of GT. There, I said it.

Yes, it does not fit in every style, and there are some better named ones (Uub's Blitz comes to mind), and the stages do not top out as high as some (Baby Vegeta's two), but the effect, and amount of damage are just ridiculous, even post errata. A +6 physical that your opponent blocks, or loses a card from his hand to. Either way, it is a one for one trade off. The stage gain is inconsequential, but can help.

And in expanded, it is just another discard card for black, and black will run it, period. Limited, similarly, that one card you peel out of their hand could make the difference in the combat Black Clash shows up in.

Expanded 4/5 (good, but not the king of Black hand destruction, that's Black Body Destruction)

Focused 5/5 (for now, nearly perfect, you back it, and then run three, at least if you're playing black)

Limited 5/5 (a large blow to the head and discard, and stage gain, what more do you desire?)
