Saiyan Excitement – GT Super 17 Saga
Rare - #139
Event – Combat

Power: (Use when entering Combat as the Defender.) Your opponent skips his first Attack Phase this turn. Remove from the game after use.

What the stupid broken. This is by far the most broken card in the set (Mark is good, but this is just wrong). Remember Initiative? It had to get restricted. Now throw one in that is not limit 1, an Event, and the new WEC GT rules where you can draw and then use WEC effects… and you get an extremely broken card that creates two archtypes: Saiyan Trunks Excite Ball and Saiyan Supreme Gohan the Swift EDQ Control Ball. Which, of course, are effectively two of the most powerful decks out there right now.

If Score doesn’t do something about this card before Worlds… ugh. That’s all I have to say. It will be a long Worlds if they don’t.

Excitement pretty much allows you to start first, and then end combat. It also allows you to start with Power Punch to shutdown your opponent, and with the combination of Buu’s New House, you can set up the right combat to use all your board setup to search out balls or get the EDQ going. Then Excitements and Powerful Followers and cards like that get everything going.

Sure this card was probably meant for Blitz decks where you can go first and dish out the punishing with your Saiyan Heritage Only cards, but I will guarantee you that this isn’t used for that.

Anyway let’s just say this card has caused a major stir in the Expanded environment. It’s just way too powerful, giving Saiyan way too much control in the DB environment. With three extra turns to do whatever they want, Saiyan Ball will use Excitements to their advantage.

Expanded: 4.9 out of 5.0 (literally taking over the environment)
Focused: 3.9 out of 5.0 (Blitz decks, possibly DB but to a much lesser extent with less control cards and the ease of Black Smoke Dragon)
Sealed: 3.6 out of 5.0 (decent, should prove to be useful)

Handy. It took me time to see how useful this card can be, but it can be quite. Blitz decks will use it to begin their chain of attacks, Dragonball decks will use it to run like the cowards they are (joking), etc. Good enough that it probably ought to be restricted. As with alot of cards, in limited, it just doesn't help.

Expanded 5/5 (Dball lurve)
Focused 3/5 (only blitz can really use it to full effect)
Limited 1/5 (meh)
