Matthew Low
Gohan Level 1 – GT Baby Saga
Uncommon - #133
Personality

PUR 4
Power: Energy attack doing 12 life cards of damage and costs 4 power stages to perform.

Let’s just say this. One look at Gohan and I pretty much cried. Big smack in the face if I should say so myself. There’s no ally that does even close to the amount of damage Gohan does at face value. He’s a level 1, so he can have a home in many different decks.

Gohan is decently played in the environment so you might not be able to get him out every time. Regardless, his big energy attack is nothing to laugh at. Hitting your opponent for 12 life cards is quite good, especially seeing that most allies do an energy doing 4 or 5 life cards.

The cost should scare you a bit as 4 stages is a lot more than the 1 or 2 stages most other allies need. Big thing is you can’t direct get him out with Z Warriors Gather and intend to use his energy that turn. Of course, that has a so what effect because all you need to do is bring Elder Kai out as well to power up Gohan and you’re good to go. Either way, Gohan should bring the hurting on in the next turn.

Gohan’s PUR of 4 will allow you to fuel his energy every time it comes around to you. His extremely high power level should prove quite helpful in taking physical attacks to dishing out random ones you might have.

As an MP, it isn’t too interesting but it is your only option if you want the 16 stages. A big energy isn’t something to jump for joy over, and as an ally MP it might not work as well with the high PUR. But hey, Gohan ally is often used with Saiyan Supreme Mastery, so this wouldn’t be that bad of an option. Gohan has a lot of Z level 1s that are pretty good, like Boookworm KBS and the MBS level 1s.

He’s better off as an ally by far.

Expanded: 4.4 out of 5.0 (very few hero allies come close to what he can do, but not a very good MP option)
Focused: 4.7 out of 5.0 (same, noting he’s definitely one the best allies)
Sealed: 5.0 out of 5.0 (he’s a broken ally, need I say more?) ~matthewlow 4/9/04 – Friday Elder Kai Level 1 – GT Baby Saga Uncommon - #128 Personality

PUR 2
Power: Raise a Personality to his highest power stage. Discard the top 2 cards of your opponent’s Life Deck.

I’d even consider him in a non-ally deck because of his sheer potential. He has anti-lockdown written all over his face, and can even work as anti-ally in the clutch.

Decent PUR, but doesn’t matter too much since his power isn’t an attack. He deals an automatic two life cards, which can’t be too bad. Nail is good, and so is Elder Kai in this sense.

Thing is, he raises any personality to his highest power stage. I often use him with Gohan to fuel the big energy he has, but what else can he do? You’ll be seeing quite a few allies run out of stages as the turn wears on, so he can easily help fuel some more. Physical decks can have 16 more stages to chew through. Allies well welcome him with open arms.

But then there’s the other thing. You can use him on your Main Personality. You can be like, why would you ever do that, but there will be times in an ally deck that you think it could help. But think, in a regular deck with Elder Kai just there, your opponent can knock you to zero, you take over with Elder Kai and send your MP to full, and you’ll be ready to take on more threats. In a sense, he’s like a back up Senzu Bean or something.

You can even power up your opponent’s MP if you ever really want to. Random anti-ally if worst comes to worst.

His PL is decent but he’s still in the lowest bracket. Oh well. He’ll save you stages anyway.

Expanded: 4.7 out of 5.0 (powerful, in both ally and non-ally decks)
Focused: 4.7 out of 5.0 (can’t see many hero ally decks without him, not to mention in hero decks period)
Sealed: 5.0 out of 5.0 (here is an amazing ally, and in sealed, where stages make or break a game, he will help a ton)

Elvish Crack Piper Level 1 GT Gohan

17 stages.

Energy attack for 12

Costs 4 to perform.

Not much to say about him, a brutally efficient ally.

I could bash it for having no secondary effects or not
being effective in all situations, but lets face it. The
only reason to play this guy is to get it into play real
fast and smack the opponetn for 12 each turn.

5/5

~Surllio~ Gohan Lvl 1
GT Uncommon #133
Hero Personality

Wow, thats a stage one for you. Pay for, deal 12. Have access to it EVERY turn. Hows that for a power. Oh yeah, this guy makes a wonderful ally too.

Allies with huge attacks are generally the first to go, and this guy if set up right is just wrong. Gohan powers up just enough to use that attack every turn you power up. This is of course, very very very good. The fact that the attack is replenised every time your turn runs around is just nice.

However, he is only a good ally, not a great one. The big attack is nice, but it doesn't have an added effect. Granted, this guy can soak physical damage as well, but his power just seems to be lacking something.

A 12 life card energy attack is nothing to laugh at though. If you don't hit a nice clump of endurance, it can quickly hurt your deck.

Decent ally, but there are better.

Focused: 4.0 of 5
Expanded: 3.0 of 5
Sealed: 4.5 of 5 (if you pull a hero)

Gohan Level 1 GT

He shoots a big energy, and has massive stages.

That is Gohan from GT in a nutshell. He's an ally that has a big energy. It's fairly unlikely he will be used in a personality set, as Gohan has better level ones, but I could be wrong. In Expanded or Focused, most likley he will be an ally in an ally deck. Better in expanded, as there is less endurance running around.

In sealed, he is average. Big energy, whee.
