The card that made me have a good hard think once I calmed the fuck down. Obitirandus here is one of those Grade 4 options for when you play certain decks. His once per turn GB2 ACT skill costs Counterblast 2 and a discard from the hand, then the opponent cannot normal or superior call until the end of their next turn.

So he's obviously meant for Magia and Hollow matchups just to basically get a Pseudo-Lock off, but what does he mean for normal decks? Well, for Darkface, yeah he's an option, but most of the time I found myself unable to afford the cost of both himself AND Darkface unless the opponent gives me damage, and a savvy opponent won't do that: floating the opponent on 4 damage is a viable play, unless you deliberately Stride into anything other than Grade 4 Darkface that doesn't cost Counterblast such as Paraspear.

He's pricey but the cost is fair enough to a point: for Counterblast 2 you are turning one of the cards in your hand into a perfect shield against one column, if we take into account the paralysis of one front-row attacker, or the absence of one. As I said though, more often that not sealing an attacker would cost Counterblast so you need to manage how the turn will look carefully.

Even so, this is good as a 2-off, because what the fuck else will you fill the G-Zone with, for the important matchups and when you can spare the Counterblast.

3/5
