[ACT](VC): Legion22000 "Ultimate Dimensional Robo, Great Daiyusha" (If your opponent's vanguard is grade 3 or greater, this unit may return four cards from your drop zone into your deck once, search your deck for the specified card, and Legion) [CONT](VC):During your turn, if this unit is Legion, and the number of cards in your soul with "Dimensional Robo" in its card name is three or more, this unit gets [Critical]+1. [AUTO](VC):[Counter Blast (1)] When this unit's drive check reveals a grade 3 card, if your legion mate's [Critical] is two or greater, you may pay the cost. True Ultimate Dimensional Robo, Great Daikaiser

So instead of getting stuck in with the stuff for the Trial Decks next week, we're going to review the promos that come with them. And the first of them is True Ultimate Dimensional Robo, Great Daikaiser. He Legions with another Dimensional Robo, Great Daiyusha, and as a reward, as long as Great Daikaiser has 3 or more Dimensional Robos in the soul, his Critical rises by 1. And for the last skill, when you Drive Check a Grade 3 and your Legion Mate's Critical is at 2 or more, you can Counterblast 1 to pull Daikaiser's usual shtick of popping a guardian and nullifying a "cannot be hit" skill.

...Aaaaaaaaand any real credibility with this card is basically ruined by the restriction of requiring D-Robos. If he just gained Critical some other way he would work as an extension to Crazy Diamond and thus have a decent chance at using his skill, which is pretty much the only ACCEPTABLE way for anyone to use it. This is now not only restricted to later and with fewer targets for balance's sake, without minusing yourself somehow by sacking away Daimagnum (who won't even use its extra power to increase Critical anymore) his Crit won't even increase in Mid Game since your rides only provide 2 soul.

Worst part about it? Most reliable way to get 2 Critical on Great is to wait until you're on 4 damage and Great Daiyusha's Limit Break works.  LGCSSG applies. Normally. But the stupid part is the skill can rob better players of a win simply because the opponent sacks one of the few targets they have left (by this time a few Grade 3s are expected to be gone from the deck) and hitting the opponent who guarded in the most optimal way. This is bullshit. And it's bullshit because no matter how logical it may sound that the chance of it happening is so small it's not worth building a deck to counter this specifically, you know people will sack and then claim this piece of crap is OP and shit.

This card embodies everything wrong with Vanguard and deserves to die.

True Ultimate Dimensional Robo, Great Daikaiser

And now, we present the award for the longest name in Cardfight Vanguard to...

...Not this guy.  There's ANOTHER unit with an even LONGER name that's coming down the line.  Seriously, did Bushiroad hire the R&D staff that worked on Unhinged and Unglued from Wizards of the Coast or something?

Well, looks like Great Daikaiser decided that having a Triple Drive Check wasn't good enough (especially since Stride and the triple drive check that can do is a thing now) and took his power to an even higher level to become True Daikaiser.

...Who does he think he is, Akuma?

Anyway, True Daikaiser here is a throwback Legion, and one you get when you buy the Gear Chronicle, a new clan, trial deck next week.  ...Didn't mean to sound like a commercial there, folks.  *Ahem*  Anyway, True Daikaiser Legions with Great Daiyusha.

And, hoo boy...  Anyway, like the other throwback Legions (so far), his skills only work when in Legion, so, let's look at those throwback skills.

Oh, neat, it's got Great Daiyusha's "always on critical" ability for the same reason, 3 or more Dimensional Robos in the soul, +1 critical. No extra power...  Oh wait, Great Daiyusha still has all of ITS abilities in play as a Vanguard.

But, it should be noted, that even though Great Daiyusha, at 4 damage (or sooner with a Limit Break Enabler in play) gets +1 critical, that will NOT make the attack have 3 critical.  However, if Daiyusha is in the soul, Great Daiyusha's +2000 from that and the +2000 from the Limit Break both, in fact, affect the Legion's attack.  So, it would be, with the crossride power and Limit Break power, 26000/2 critical Legion attack.

That's as big as Seeker Alfred before any boosts are applied, with a 10k booster, it hits for the same numbers.  Again, I dislike making any cross-clan comparisons.

And this is why I dislike it, because True Daikaiser doesn't just get the +1 critical, he also has Daikaiser's Break Ride skill.  When a grade 3 is revealed during the twin drive, you CB1 to retire any unit blocking this attack, including Perfect Guards.  However, you can only do that if Great Daiyusha has +1 critical.

I think we can put this one as another exception to the "Vanguards that gain crits suck" list.

Oh gee, this is just BEGGING to be abused with Daikaiser and/or Commander Laurel, isn't it?  Man, Dimension Police are a grade 3 tool box deck after all, before it was Kaiser Grader, Daiard and Shadowkaiser, now this?  Sheesh.  Crazy Diamond is even more crazy since you can make it work with the G-Assist instead of needing the Enigman ride chain.

This is, a really good Throwback Legions, one of the better ones actually.
