Dragonic Overlord the End

...This week, we discover the boss, who picked these cards, is REALLY old. I mean come on, seriously. Having said that, today's card still holds relevance. It's Dragonic Overlord the End, the original Gamebreaker. On hit, CB2 and Persona Blast to stand himself; a skill that's so famous it hurts.

Actually still hurts now, actually. The End alone isn't so hot now that other VGs can bring the same pressure as he for bigger numbers, but it just so happens the X can let the End reach those numbers also; 22k unboosted with the threat of 2 VG attacks. As far as a fail-con ride to the X goes, it isn't bad; pressure from turn 3 onward is certainly welcome if you can't Stride yet and the implied pressure may allow you to catch up in card advantage before you ride the X. Late Game, he won't hit the VG ever, so beware the vanilla afterwards, but admittedly, that can be solved with Stride.

BTW, absurd number hitting and increased vanilla-isation from several decks means his 13k body isn't worth your time.

A staple in the X and a neat fail con everywhere else. Not much to say.

Nanya

Looks like the Boss chose the cards this week.

Anyway, it's been awhile since we looked at some of these, so, let's start off with one of the two strongest pre-legion cards in the game, Overlord the End.

As you should know, The End gains +2000 if either Dragonic Overlord from BT-01 or the Break Ride version is in the Soul and he Legions with The X for more naughtiness.  Hit anything, CB2, persona blast to restand.

Such a powerful card that when it was released in America, people from VMundi were screaming about how over-powered it was and demanding that the Cross-Ride defense get nerfed so it didn't exist for anyone outside of Japan.

Even with the advent of Break-Rides and Limit Break puu-puu Combo platter skills, the End was still tearing things up everywhere.  And, yes, I know that Dragonic Descendant was the one that dethroned The End for a long time, but Kagero has better support than Narukami does, even if they have some awesome Break Rides.

And considering that all Overlords have a Stride coming out in Fighter's Collection 2015 this year, well, yeah, this card is going to stay near the top of being awesome for a long, long time.  Even if The Re-Birth and The Great temporarily over-took it for some time.

Rating: 5/5
